"So you took it back?" Jasper asks with his mouth stuffed with pizza. I nod. I just told him what happened yesterday and our failure of a plan.
"Yeah, what now?" I ask.
He shrugged, "You just give it back to her." No. I can't do that.
I took another slice of pizza. "Isn't there any other way?" He shook his head.
"Have you told the others?" I'm presuming he's talking about Trent and Stacy, which I haven't told you yet. "What happened to keep your promises, James?" I know I should've told them, but I wasn't ready to.
"I'll tell them when the time is right."
"Okay, well I need to get going. I have to babysit." He stood up.
"Bye," I said as he exited the diner.
I took some more orders and wished the time by. I was doodling on my notepad when I saw Bailey coming in with another guy. I sighed watching them take a seat at one of the booths.
I didn't bother taking their order, the other waiter would just have to. The guy's head turns, and I was shocked to see it was Parker. I sat there gaping at them. I couldn't believe it.
I took off my glasses and cleaned them, but they were still there. They ordered and I saw Carter walking inside. I took off my apron, ran a hand through my hair, and let out a shaky breath.
I walked over to her, "James!" She squealed, attacking me with a hug.
"H-hi." I said hugging her back. She lets go of the embrace and took a seat.
"How're things?" She said smiling. I nodded.
"G-great, and you?" The waiter came to our table.
"Also, can I please get a strawberry milkshake?" The waiter nodded.
"I'll have a chocolate one," I said.
"But you didn't have to apologize, you did nothing wrong. I mean we were having fun." I scratched the back of my head.
"Y-yeah, I just thought that I did something stupid. The night was a blank to me." She laughed.
"No you didn't, we jumped off a cliff and it was amazing!" I gaped at her, "You don't remember?" I shook my head.
"N-no, what else did I do?"
"Well, not much since Bailey took you home." Did Bailey take me home?
"B-but that wasn't what she told me." Our milkshakes arrived, and Carter starts sipping on hers.
"Well, she did. She was so angry to find you drunk and then left. I wouldn't blame her, but I didn't know it was your first party and beer. I'm sorry James." I smiled at her.
"It's not your fault, and besides I had tons of fun." Bailey walked to our table.
"Hello Bailey," Carter said also attacking her with a hug, which she doesn't respond to.
"Hi," she muttered. Carter doesn't seem to catch up.
"Who's the cute boy?" Carter pointed at Parker who is busy with his phone.
