My heart was thumping tremendously when I end the call. I'm finally going to see her again. I excused myself, but again someone grabbed me. Can't I be left alone for like five seconds?

"Where do you think you're going?" I plaster a fake smile on my face. Pointing to the door.

"I-"

"Trent, leave the poor boy alone," Stacy said folding her arms. Thank you, somebody, who cares!

"Yeah I know, but he was ditching his own party." Trent pouted like a dog, well, tried. Stacy turned to me.

"I really need to go." I pleaded.

"Where are you going? What can be better than this?" Trent asks, eyeing me suspiciously.

"I'm going to get her."

"Who is this her?" Trent rubs his chin.

Stacy rolled her eyes, "Bailey, you idiot."

"And why would he go get her?" I slowly try to get out of the room.

"Because Trent she is the good boy's troublemaker." Was the last thing I heard when I left the house.

Taking my mom's car I drove to Bailey's house in a rush. Soon enough I see Parker's bike in front of the house and I slip inside and take the stairs to Bailey's room.

"Parker?" I questioned. The painting hanging on the wall is removed and in bold letters, she spray-painted a city's name. He had a smile on his face. "You figured it out. How?"

"Well, the sunflowers gave it all away." I gave him a bro hug and patted his back. I'm proud of him for solving the riddle. Now I just feel stupid for not getting it on my own.

I grabbed my backpack and shoved a few items I'll need, inside. "What are you doing?"

"Packing." I pick the puppy up.

"Have you decided what you want to name him?" I shook my head. He'll be a puppy for a while. "What about Rex or something?" That's just stupid. He has to have a special name. "Or you could just name him Dog." He said playfully.

"I'll think about it." I joke too.

I slung the bag over my shoulder.

"I'm coming with you." I frowned.

"What? No, you're not."

"Hey, I told you I would help you find her. And not to mention if it weren't for me, you wouldn't have found her." I sighed in defeat. He's probably right.

"Fine." He fist pumps the air.

Taking out my phone I type in the spray-painted address on maps. It quickly shows me all the roads and gives me directions. "I'll drive," Parker said.

I'm sure he saw the concern on my face. I had no freaking idea how to get there.

I toss the keys to him.

We get into my mom's car and hopefully, she won't mind us using it. It's for a good cause right? We are going to find Bailey. And I'm not coming back without her.

My stomach turned as we sat in the car. I was nervous as hell. I knew that.

Parker tried to start small conversations with me, but I would only give him half-answers. We had to stop a few times because some puppies need the loo.

"Why do you think she ran away?" Parker asks me while driving. I've thought about it a million times before.

"To escape."

"What?" I shrugged.

"Everything I guess." Parker tried to smile, but then it completely faded.

"I thought she liked me back." He said softly. "I thought I could make her happy." His voice cracked. "I mean after all she's been through, I wanted to be there for her." He blinked. "I don't understand her."

"Don't worry, neither does she. That's why she left, to find herself." He only nodded and continued to drive.

At least I know he had good intentions when they were together. I just don't know if she felt the same way as he did. Hopefully, she does. "Did she ever talk about me?" He asks me a few minutes later.

"What do you mean?"

"I don't know." He shrugged, "Did she ever mention me?"

"Parker you were like her boyfriend. Of course, she talked about you." Well, I tried to not tell him that she confessed to me that she doesn't know what she wants. But I did tell him that before. Right?

"But we never dated." He mumbled.

I placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder, "It doesn't matter right now. All that matters is that we find her and that she's safe. Come to think of it, she will really appreciate you coming all the way to help find her."

I almost told him it's his own fault that he didn't ask her out. But then I remembered that he did, she just denied it, kinda.

I was slowly falling asleep, it's almost dark and we still have a long way. "You can rest," Parker said and my eyes fluttered shut.

"James!" I followed the voice.

"James, please help!" It echoed in the building.

I took a turn and walked into a dimly lit room. Bailey laid there lifeless on the ground in a pool of blood.

"You're too late James, now look what you've done! It's all your fault."

"No, it can't be. I'm here, Bailey." I shook her body. "Bailey, please don't leave me. I need you and you need me. Wake up, you- I- you." I sobbed.

"What have you done to my sister?" A little boy asks. Maybe he's Shaun?

"I thought you said that you'll find her," Carter said, with mascara running down her cheeks.

"You're a disappointment. Why can't you be more like your brother?" Mom and dad said.

"You killed her James!"

"No! I didn't!" I defended myself.

"Where's my daughter?" Mr. Gibson said.

"You idiot! How dare you?" Lisa suddenly appeared.

"James!"

"James!" I opened my eyes. Thank gooseberries it's just a nightmare. "You scared me there buddy.

I saw his bloodshot eyes.

To be honest with you, he almost scared me. The circles underneath his eyes telling the truth he's been trying to hide. He's been waiting for her all too long it's time to take her home.

Typing 'motel' on my screen, I see there's one in the next turn.

"I think we should stop here for the night. We'll be on the road first thing tomorrow."
