Numb.

Blurred.

Hollow.

Dead...

Walking through a busy crowd of people,

Surrounded by people she knows,

Yet she still manages to feel alone.

She feels numb

Empty of emotions.

Never smiles,

Never laughs,

Neve frowns or utters a word.

Never cries,

Never screams,

Unless you catch her alone.

When she's alone is when the monster is unleashed.

The smiles and laughs seem even further away.

No words, just pain.

The tears start to bleed from her eyes,

Cries falling from her lips,

Screams bursting from her mouth.

Pain.

It trickles over her lips,

Dribbles down her chin.

It comes faster,

Now there there is a pool of it around her feet.

It starts falling from her eyes too.

She is up to her knees in pain.

It gushes around her,

Rising higher.

Still, no sound is uttered.

No cry or plea for help.

Just pain.

It flows past her hips and up her waist,

Constricting her chest.

It's up to her neck now,

And she struggles not to gasp for breath.

It threatens to drown her,

But she welcomes it like an old friend.

It gushes into her mouth,

Over her nose,

Cutting off all airways.

Her eyes are finally at peace.

As her heart beats one more time,

She smiles,

Goodbye.

And she drowns in her pain,

While all the onlookers watch,

So oblivious.

She drowned in her pain,

And they all still think she's a quiet, happy girl.
