                                                        Chapter 29

                                                      I’ll Wait For You

When Nish said he was taking me out, I expected that maybe he was taking me to some fancy restaurant or he’d take me for the movies. What I absolutely didn’t expect was that he just took me home and we watched television. Unexpected, but I didn’t mind, I got to spend quality time wrapped up in his arms.

It had been about an hour of television before he abruptly switched it off. He got up as gently as he could. He looked nervous. His expression changed my mood completely…what happened all of a sudden?

“I have something to tell you.” he said quickly

“What Nish? What happened?” I asked worried

“I have to go” he said seriously

“Dude! If your nature calls then just go! Why are you telling me?!” I asked bewildered

“Baby! No not that! I need to go back to go to the royal mansion, Udaipur” he told me, the seriousness made it clear, he had to leave

“u-Udaipur” I stammered a bit sitting back breaking contact with him

“Not for long I promise.” He said quickly

“Why?” I asked looking outside the window suddenly it felt like my whole world was falling apart

“There’s a big conflict at home, regarding our royal lands, and ancestral property, and since I’m the heir to all that, I need to be there. I would’ve gladly brought you with me, but I don’t want you be amidst all that” he said

“When do you leave” I asked my voice flat. I just didn’t have the courage to meet his eyes

“Tomorrow morning.” He said, I could hear the pain in his voice.

“But tomorrow is our three year anniversary” I said

“I’m sorry but I can’t wait any longer” he said. I remained silent, just the thought of being away from him hurt me so bad.

“Baby I…I’ll be back as soon as I can” he promised

“How long?” I managed to say

“I don’t know babe” he said holding my hand lightly

“You should be packing right now then, right?” I said as I turned and walked straight to our walk in closet and dragged out a suitcase.

“May I’m sorry…” he started

“It’s fine. It’s not you’re mistake I understand” I said as I started to pack his suitcase for him.

“Love?” he called softly
