A Hidden Promise
The family get together was a great success. The fact that I hadn’t attended the last get together made the day even more special for me. But also it was tiring, so I decided to take a time off and just stare at the decorations suddenly I felt something drop on my side I turned my head to see a very tired Nish sitting with his eyes closed…
“What happened?” I asked him
“Why didn’t you tell me that you had so many relatives” he complained and I giggled
“Well I…” I started but my dad cut me off
“Come on son I want you to meet a few people” my dad said
“Dad…look at the poor guy, let him rest for a while” I said
“But he hasn’t even met half the family yet!” dad said
“Alright. I’m ready to meet more people now” Nish said getting up
“Now that’s like my boy! Come on!” my dad said walking around the hall tagging him along
“Grab a coke on your way!” I yelled
It was late evening already. I didn’t even realize how fast time flew by before I could blink; the girls were already sitting in a circle ready for a chit-chat, that’s when Palak noticed the ring on my finger
