                                                        Chapter 7

                                                        Her Eyes      

                        

                                            I hadn’t opened my eyes yet but I was slowly coming back to me senses, I felt uncomfortable, frozen…every small movement ached…I felt a pressure on my right hand.

                          I slowly opened my eyes, instantly my eyes met a white room…too white for my liking, but what made it better was that the room was filled with bright red roses… some looked old, some looked fresh. Lilac curtains blocked the window making it impossible for me to figure out what time of the day it was. I heard a constant beeping on my left which irritated me already. I tried to move my hands but my IVs restricted my movement. All my doubts were confirmed. I was in the hospital. That’s when my attention shifted towards the pressure on my right hand.

                          I saw him…Nish. He was sleeping with his head resting on my bed as he sat on a chair beside my bed. He was holding my hand between both his hands as he slept. The bed cover on which his eye rubbed was wet…I assume he was crying before he slept. Suddenly all the incidents of that night came back to me… our nine month anniversary…the dancing at the club…my question…the fight…our…b-break up…and finally, my accident. Even after all this happened, looking at sleeping figure made me smile.

“Nish…” I whispered as I shook my hand trying to wake him up when I was done staring at him

“Nish…wake up” I said again trying to wake him up

“Hmm Mmay” he mumbled shuffling a bit

“Nish” I whispered for the third time and suddenly his eyes snapped wide open and he looked at me with a movement so fast. His eyes sparkled like a kids on Christmas. A huge grin made way to his face. Our jet black eyes met with his chocolate brown orbs like we both searched something in the others' eyes. In spite of our break up, being near to him made me feel secure…complete…
