Next day, 10:00 AM

"What are the voices like?" He asked as he got out a piece of paper to write formulas on. "One is me, but a lot shyer. The other always says the worst things."

"Like?" I was too afraid to say the next words. "That you're going to kill me, a-and you're lying.."

He put down his pen and looked at me. "I told you I wasn't. You knew I meant it." His voice turned serious. "I swear. I'm not going to hurt you. I like you too much. And I don't like a lot of people."

"How do I become my voices? I don't want to be shy and I don't want to say the wrong things at the wrong time." I avoided eye contact with him at all costs.

"Become better versions of them. Don't be shy and don't say wrong things at wrong times. I'll help you. Okay?" I bit my lip before responding.

"I guess." I didn't notice his chair pulled up closer to mine until he put a hand on my cheek. "Say it. Do it Trisha."

"But I don't want to hurt-!" "Calm down. You won't hurt me." "Fine..."

I inhaled and exhaled deeply, removing the fear of doing harm out of my mind. "Chikara to danryoku..."

My eyes opened as I focused on his pen. Soon it flew across the room when my eyes snapped to the wall. "Christ. That's amazing. You could help me a lot with that."

His words made my cheeks heat up. I bet the devil on my shoulder wants to scoff loudly right now. "I'd love to help you."
---
"Remember the plan?" Jonathan and I were at the basement level of Arkham Asylum, where he put the toxins into the water supply. "Of course. Just if it goes wrong, I'll help."

"Be careful. Now come here." I stepped closer to him and he picked me up bridal style. "Act." I nodded and pretended to be unconscious.

The thugs didn't notice we were there until he slipped on his scarecrow mask. "Tell me something, doll... what are you seeing?"

My eyes tightly closed and my head shook. "TELL ME!" I screamed and the lights went off for a short period, then turned back on.

Jonathan gasped after taking the mask off and spoke. "He's here." One of the thugs spoke up. "Who?" "The Bat Man!"

"What do we do?" Another thug questioned. "What anyone does when a prowler comes around." His head turned towards the two thugs.

"Call the police." "You want them here?" "At this point they can't stop us. But the Bat Man has a talent for disruption!" He looked up towards the ceiling then back at the henchman. "Force him outside, the police will take him down, go."

"What about her?" The first thug pointed at me, my head shaking and my breaths fast. "Ah, she hasn't got long. I gave her a concentrated dose. The mind can only take so much. Now, go."

Soon all the thugs scurried out. I stopped acting and sat up. "Hide, now."

I went to a dark corner and watched him, his thugs, and Batman go at each other. Soon Jonathan put his mask on and went after Batman. I went out to help him, by sneaking up behind Batman.

Right as he pressed the button on his wrist to release the toxin, Batman pushed his arm to the side, as the toxin shot out at me.

I screamed as I fell on the ground, my head hitting the floor hard.

The last thing I heard was Jonathan yelling my name. Nothing else. Just black.

I love this one yay
