Mr. Cox sits down at his desk for the rest of the hour giving us time to set up wok times with our partners. Liam turns to me and smirks before speaking.
"So babe, when do you want to start the project?" He asks with a wink. I roll my eyes and glare a little.
"Just come to my house at six I guess." I say.
"One problem there babe."
"And that is?"
He leans in close his breath fanning my ear and I shiver. I feel him chuckle again and I roll my eyes at him for the hundredth time that day. "I don't know where you live." He says. I sigh before holding my hand out.
"Give me your phone." I say. He pulls his IPhone out of his pocket and hands it to me. I slide my thumb across the screen and open his contacts. Just sweeping over the names of the majority of his contacts I can tell they are girls. I hold back a snort before adding a new contact putting my name, phone number, e-mail, and address in it. I hand it back to him and he looks at it raising one eyebrow slightly.
"Your e-mail? Really? Who even does that shit anymore?" He says. I roll my eyes and shrug.
"You never know you may need it." I say.
"Can I put my information in your phone?" He asks and I nod. I pull my IPhone 5c out of my pocket and hand it to him.
He laughs. "Pink? I'm guessing you're the girly-girl type?" I shake my head no.
"Not even close." I say. He shrugs and moves his fingers across the touch screen entering his information. He puts the phone in front of his face and takes a picture making me laugh. He looks at my face and his breaks into a grin as well.
"Your smile is gorgeous. Just like you." He says winking. Yet another eye roll to add to the count today. He hands me back my phone and I glance over the information making sure nothing is inappropriate. I lean back into my chair opening twitter this time while I wait for the bell to ring. I expect him to move and go talk to someone else but he doesn't, he stays sitting right next to me and I swear I feel his eyes on me. While I scroll through my twitter I see a tweet about soccer and gasp out loud. Liam jumps slightly next to me his head whipping in my direction.
"What?" He says.
"Soccer tryouts after school. I totally forgot." I say smacking my palm against my forehead.
"Did you forget clothes or something?"
"No I just haven't been mentally preparing myself throughout the day!"
He gives me a look that says 'you're crazy' and speaks. "Seriously?" He says. I nod and he chuckles. "Boy's soccer starts today too. I think we are doing the conditioning part together" I nod again. I look up just as the bell rings. I grab my book bag and stand looking around for Audrey but she is already gone.
I speed walk out of the hallways and too my car and don't realize Liam is following until I hear him gasp at the sight of my car.
"YOU HAVE AN AUDI!!" He says.
"Yeah?" I say dragging out the word into a question.
"Holy shit are you rich?"
"Well I guess you could say that." I pop the trunk of my car grabbing all of the things I need. I stuff it all into my soccer bag before putting my book bag in the trunk, grabbing my soccer bag, and slamming the trunk shut. I glance up and see Audrey, Niall, Paige, Zayn, and Harry all staring at my car with their mouths agape.
"Holy shit." Niall, Zayn, and Harry all say at the same time. I roll my eyes.
"It's not that big of a deal guys." I say. They all look up at me with wide, disbelieving eyes and shake their heads. "Anyways, I'm going to soccer so bye." I begin to walk away and Liam follows me. We enter the building again and he speaks.
"I'll see you outside and then at your house after I guess." He says winking. I roll my eyes before jogging in the direction of the girl's locker room. I enter the room and throw all my stuff down stripping quickly before putting my shorts and tank top on. I grab my bag again before heading out to the soccer field where I see all of the other girls standing in a circle talking. I toss my bag on the ground, grabbing my cleats and shin guards before jogging over to the other girls.
I introduce myself and learn some names while putting on all my gear. I have just finished tying the laces on my left cleat when the boys team joins us on the field. I hear one loud whistle and look up at the two middle aged men standing in the center circle of the field. They motion us to them with a wave of their hands and every student on the field jogs over.
"Okay everyone I am coach Waters and this is coach Bryan." The taller man says. "We are going to get right into it. We'll start with a warm up and stretching now who would like to lead?" No one raises their hand so he points at me. "You. What's your name?"
"Rain. Rain Ashford." I say.
"Well Ms. Rain will you lead us in stretches?" He asks. I nod and everyone forms a circle around me. I lead both teams through all the basic stretches before cutting them loose and doing the stretches required for my knee.
"EVERYONE LINE UP!" Coach Waters yells.
"Shit." I mutter under my breath. We all line up and begin conditioning. Sprinting, sprinting, and more sprinting is what happens all practice. We don't touch a ball at all. By the end of practice strands of my hairline and ponytail are stuck to my face and neck. I take a sip of my water before pouring some on the back of my neck. I look at the time and see it's already 5:15 so I jog to my car and drive home so I can take a shower before Liam gets there.
I pull in the garage and unlock the door walking into the empty house. I sigh when I realize my parents aren't home. I don't know why I got my hopes up anyway, they never are. I toss my bag on the kitchen table and hop in the shower quickly. I wash my hair and body before getting out and sliding leggings and a cut off shirt on. I brush my hair out and head downstairs.
It's 5:55 and I decide to make snacks for when we both get hungry. I'm in the process of pulling grapes off their stems when the doorbell rings. I jog over to the door and sing it open.
Liam is leaning up against the door frame and smirks at me, his eyes raking up and down my body.
"Way to be subtle about it." I mutter under my breath.
"Well hello to you too love." He says pushing himself off of the door and stalking inside bumping my shoulder on the way past. I stumble back a little before rolling my eyes and sighing.
It's going to be a long night.
