I walk up to the two boys who are tumbling around on the floor Liam on top, Ashton on the bottom. While I am coming up with my approach I see that Ashton isn't even trying. What?

I shake off the confusion and grab Liam's shoulder, trying to yank him off of Ashton, but he jerks his arm, knocking me back a few feet. I sigh in frustration doing the same thing but pulling harder this time. He stumbles off of Ashton but when he regains his footing he charges again in his direction.

I step in front of him immediately, putting my hands on his chest. His eyes are no longer their milk chocolate color, now they look so dark they could be mistaken for being black.

"Liam stop please." I beg him. His eyes snap to mine and his face immediately softens. He grabs my wrist and starts to tug me along with him but I wiggle it out of his grasp.

"I have to help him." I say gesturing towards Ashton. His eyes narrow in Ashton's direction and he rolls his eyes.

"He'll be fine now come on." He says harshly. He repeats his actions from moments before, grabbing on to my wrist and trying to drag me with him. I dig my heels into the ground, the sound of my tennis shoes squeaking fills the hallway.

"Liam. No." I say sternly. He narrows his eyes again but not at Ashton this time, at me.

"Fine." He says throwing his hands into the air. He turns on his heel, stomping out the doors of the school. I roll my eyes and turn to Ashton who is trying, and failing, to get up on his own. I crack a small smile and walk over to him placing my arm around his waist to help him stand up.

"Thanks." He mumbles coughing afterwards. He starts to tip and I struggle to keep him upright until Calum walks over and takes his other side.

"Thanks." I breathe and he nods and smiles.

"Let's get you to the nurse buddy." Calum says. We walk him to the nurse siting him in the chair as the nurse goes to get the first aid kit. Calum says his goodbyes and leaves, and it start to do the same but Ashton speaks before I can.

"Can you stay with me please? I want to talk to you about something." He says. I freeze thinking about my response but nod and sit in the chair next to him.

The nurse reenters the room cleaning Ashton's cuts and placing an ice pack on his head. She leaves us alone and Ashton turns to me.

"You know I don't like you dating him." He says. I dip my head and nod.

"Yeah I know." I mumble. He places a hand on my shoulder making me look at him.

"I'm not going to give up on you. I understand that your feelings for me aren't as strong as mine are for you. But I'm willing to wait for you." He says my eyes widen at his confession and I smile enveloping him in a hug.

"Friends?" I say.

"No." He says and I frown.

"Best friends." He says with a grin. I gasp and punch his shoulder. He winces dramatically making me laugh.

"Get outta here. Get to class." He jokes. I smile before giving him one last hug, walking out of the room.

Ashton and I's friendship is taken care of.

Now I have to have to take care of Liam.
