Dawn Pov.
My mama once said that I should never envy anyone. I should always be happy for someone who has good coming their way.
Well, I dont feel not one ounce of good for her. When I say her I mean Autumn. The girl who Chris is currently dating. I saw them kissing in the hallway and hugging. It made me madder than I've ever been.
When she caught me looking, she winked and tried to laugh like it was funny. I didnt see anything funny.
"What you looking at?" Trevor asked suddenly causing me to jump.
"You scared me."
"I know...what you looking at?" He asked again.
"Nothin, I was in my own little world."
"I bet. So I was wondering if you wanted to come to the game with me tonight?"
"We don't have a game tonight."
"We don't, but Mercer does." He said holding up two tickets.
"Oh, you already bought them?"
"Yeah, so you wouldn't say no." I smiled and shrugged.
"I'll come."
"You didnt have a choice." He said as a smirk came upon his face.
"Oh really? Why'd you ask me then?" He shrugged and hung his arm around my shoulders.
"Be ready at 7:30."
"You know I can drive myself right?"
"But you goin with me, so be ready at 7:30." He said.
"Ai ai captain." I saluted as he shook his head.
We passed by Chris and Autumn as they stared us down. Well stared me down. Trevor didn't seem to notice.
"I gotta ask you something."
"Go ahead."
"Have you ever had a boyfriend?" He asked.
"Uh, yeah." His head snapped to my direction so quickly I thought he would break it.
"For real? When? Who?"
"Well, um, this year."
"Who?" He urged. He probably wouldn't believe me if I told him.
"Chris."
"Chris Walker?"
"No, Chris Brown." I mumbled.
"The one on the basketball team?"
"Yeah."
"Sorry to tell you but yo mans cheatin on you." He said.
"We dont go out anymore dumb butt."
"Oh, why not?"
"He thought I was lying to him about something but I wasn't." I explained looking at a certain tattoo Trevor had on his hand.
It said: R.I.P Ma.
"Your mom died?" I asked. He looked down at his tattoo and stared straight ahead.
"Yeah."
"Sorry for your lost." He shrugged.
"Happened 7 years ago. I'm not as emotional as I was back then." I looked up at him and tried studying his side profile.
"What?"
"Nothing."
"It's obviously something if you're staring." He said.
