Did you guys see the new cover for Dawn btw?? Tell me what you think😊.
Dawn Pov.
When I arrived to school on Monday, it was awfully awkward for me. I found myself walking to Trevor's locker but remembered what Chris said.
Why does he get to tell me what to do?
I wanted to talk to Trevor about what happened Friday at the game but aint no telling how that's gonna end. I already have enough drama in my life, I dont wanna add on to the plate.
"Dawn Williams, please come to the counselors office. Dawn Williams please come to the counselors office." A lady announced over the intercom.
I was rarely called to the office, I hope I didn't do anything wrong.
I knocked on her door 3 times before she answered.
"Hey Dawn, come in." I saw my mama seated at her desk as I sat beside her.
"Am I in trouble?"
"Of course not. We wanted to talk about your academic placement." She said as she put her glasses on.
"What's that?"
"What kind of classes you're put in. Okay, so the staff and I were looking at your SAT scores from last year and your test scores as well. We think that it would be best that you go into regular classes." She said.
"Huh?" I was beyond confused.
"The classes all the others kids are in, Dawn." My mama explained.
"Oh....um is that good?"
"That's very good. You won't be put in any gifted classes, but it's a start."
"Will I still be able to see Ms. Tina?"
"You can visit her class from time to time if you like." She said with a smile.
"So when does all this happen?" My mama asked.
"She gets her schedule tomorrow. If she feels like she wants to move back in with Ms. Tina then that's fine. We've noticed how she's more advanced than the other kids in her classroom."
"How so?"
"Well, she's driving which you don't see a lot of kids in her class do. Her lowest score in her class was a 93 and she seems to get along with other students as well."
"Hm. Okay, well thanks. I'll be getting her out of school early to take her to the doctor." My mama says.
"No problem, have a nice day Dawn and good luck." I waved and exited her office.
"So, how do you feel about being in regular classes now?"
"Um...I don't know. I'm kinda nervous."
"Don't be. You're very nice, I'm sure you'll make lots of new friends." She said as we got in her car.
"Why are we going to the doctor?"
"It's a regular check up. We didn't have one last year and I was notified that I had to take you to get some shots or else."
"But I don't want a shot." I whined. I hate getting shots.
"You'll be fine, I'll get you some ice cream after."
"Can we skip going to the doctor and get some ice cream?"
"It doesnt work that way." She said. I sighed and leaned back in my seat.

From the time we entered in the doctor's office, I was nervous. The scenery didn't help out either. It looked so plain and solemn, like someone was bound to get hurt here.
"Dawn Williams?" A nurse called.
We got up and walked to the little hallway to get my height and weight.
"You'll be in room A40. A doctor will be in there in a sec." She said. I sat on the bed and kicked my feet. My phone dinged indicating I got a message.
Chris🙉💘: where you at?
Me: the doctor's office😓.
Chris🙉💘: what's wrong with you?
Me: nothing physically, it's just a check up.
Chris🙉💘: mentally?
Me: I'm not in a safe mental state of mind. I'm very nervous about getting a shot.
Chris🙉💘: you'll be fine. I'll kiss your boo boo's better once you get home.
Awww.
Me: sounds nice.
Chris🙉💘: really? I could do more if you want😏.
Me: gotta blast the doctor's here.
I put my phone down as he entered.
"Hello Dawn, I was told that you're here for a check up?"
"Yes."
"Well everything looks fine. How are your eating habits?" He asked.
"Um, good I guess. Why?"
"You weigh a lot for your age."
"She's 145, that's not irregular." My mama cut in.
"Hm. It says 245 on here, I'm sorry." They laughed it off but I looked down at my stomach.
Do I weigh a lot?
"Well if that's it, can we get going?" My mama asked.
"I have to give her the shots first."
"Can we please do this another time? It gonna hurt." I begged.
"Lets get it over with now since we're here. You'll be fine." The doctor left and a nurse came in.
"Could you take your jacket off for me please sweetie?"
I did so and closed my eyes as she wiped my arm with a alcohol wipe.
"Alright 3,2,1." She stuck the needle in my arm and replaced it with a bandaid.
"See? That wasn't so hard was it?" My mama asked.
"Yes." I poked my lip out as she shook her head.
"Lets go you big baby."
"Are we still getting ice cream?"

I was watching Tv when I heard a knock on my window.
"Who is it?" I asked as I approached the window.
"Who else would it be? Peter pan?" Chris asked as I opened it.
"You never know." He held onto my waist and I brought my arms around his broad shoulders.
"Did you cry?"
"Nope." I said proudly.
"Good. I was expecting you to throw a tantrum."
"Oh gee thanks for not doubting me." I said sarcastically.
"Oh hush, you were doubting yourself too. Where they stick you at?" I lifted my sleeve and showed him my war wound.
"Are you gonna take it off?"
"No. I like the bandaid." I thought about telling Chris about my classes but decided against it.
"Dawn! Your cousins are here!"
Ugh, I hate it when they came over. They always mess with my stuff and break something.
"Okay!"
"I guess you gotta go.."
"Yeah, I'll talk to you later." He said before giving me a kiss goodbye.
