Dawn...
After driving around for 2 hours, we finally arrived at some lake. I still don't know why we're here.
"C'mon."
"What're we doing here?"
"You'll see." He said getting out. I got out and walked where he was.
"I stayed up here when I was in middle school...you see that house over there?" He pointed. It was a decent house, more of a townhouse.
"Yeah, it's a nice house. Why'd you move?" He sighed and sat in the roof of his car.
"In the 8th grade, I had a friend. Her name was Mya and I had a crush on her. She drove me crazy, the way she looked at me. I told her how I felt but she ignored my feelings. It made me feel some type of way so I did something stupid."
"What'd you do?"
"I stole a gun from my uncle's house and tried to shoot myself. If it wasn't for my mom I would be dead right now." He said.
"I'm sorry."
"For what? I'm not dead."
"Yeah but I'm sorry you felt as if you needed to kill yourself....I know the feeling." I whispered the last part.
"I know and I'm sorry."
I shivered as the cold wind hit me. It looked so dull and gray outside.
"Here, you can get my jacket--
"I'm fine." I said.
"Take it. You over here shaking like a salt shaker." Instead of resisting, I wrapped his jacket around my shoulders as he put his hands in his pockets.
"Can I tell you something?" He asked standing in front of me.
"Yeah."
"I used to be a fuck boy. I would get a lot of girl's numbers and not call them and if I did it was only to have sex with them. I did females dirty and looked at them as an object. But you kinda came into my life and made me calm down. I love you, I don't love Autumn and I think that's something you failed to realize. I got with Autumn so I could keep my mind off of you when we broke up. I also wanted to make you jealous."
"Mission accomplished."
"But now I realize that I don't have to do that because you're so good to me. You gave me chance after chance and I didn't deserve it. You don't deserve to feel like this. You deserve better." He said.
He grabbed my hands and kissed them both.
"Thank you."
"Don't you ever do that again. Understand?" He said sternly.
"Yes, I understand."
"I'm serious Dawn."
"I know. I won't attempt to do it again." I said.
"You won't do it period."
I nodded and looked up once I felt a raindrop land on my forehead.
"My mom's gonna kill me."
"What happened?"
"I didn't go to school today and I'm sure they're gonna call her soon." I explained.
"Just say you weren't feeling good. You technically wouldn't be lying. I was supposed to be back in class with my project, you made me get an F for a project grade and possibly ISS." I chuckled as he complained.
"I'm sorry."
"I'm kinda glad we got to get away though."
It was silent for a few minutes until he broke it.
