The week leading up to the date is a whirlwind. Lily, Moni, Charlie, and you (mostly you and Lily) worked together to get outfits, with the help of Arti. You did everything in your power to keep Mendy away from Lily.
You could tell that Lily was trying to keep her 'I'll be careful' promise, but every time she and Mendy were in the same room, Mendy had the insanely annoying habit of going to engage in conversation with her. You tried to keep them apart, but Mendy was sneaky.
Not only that, but every conversation had some form of veiled insult towards Lily, and you could see the effect it was having on her life and personality. Lily's laugh was just a little less loud, and she smiled just a little less often. Her excitement on anything seemed almost muted, as if Mendy was physically suppressing her spirit. You quickly realized that if you noticed, it was very likely Jack would as well.
You'd be lying if you said that didn't hurt your heart a bit.
Mendy, upon realizing what Lily was doing, milked the situation for all that it was worth. That factor made the situation that much worse. Mendy was playing with her. Lily had been going at this 'I want to help what's wrong' thing for 6 days, and while her mental confidence dwindled at an alarming rate, she was no closer to finding out anything.
Of course, you couldn't give Mendy all of the credit for Lily's strength depletion. The straw that was really breaking the camel's back was the fact that Moni didn't see Mendy's awfulness. Arti had been suspicious of you at first, but trusted Lily's judgment. As for Moni, and even Charlie, they didn't see the problem - Mendy's disguise was working.
Moni had even gone so far as to call you and Lily 'just jealous.' It was taking a toll on Lily. You did everything in your power to help.
You and Luna worked together to keep her spirits up, and Arti's never ending enthusiasm for clothes did too.
Lily decided to go simple with her outfit: a white long-sleeved cloth shirt and grey cloth-y capris.
