Hey so Panic/Anxiety Attack warning, but Lily helps you through it pretty fast.

Before he walked in, everyone was holding their breathes. You hadn't understood the saying 'you can hear a pen drop'cbefore, but you sure could now. It was total silence, apart from the occasional rustles of smoothed out dresses or the click of closing powders and compacts.
Between you and your little group, the most nervous one seemed to be Lily. While Moni and Charlie seemed to be perfectly calm, and Luna kind of just stood there, Lily was a ball of energy from where she'd sat on the couch. She first was fidgeting with her hair, then pushing up her glasses, then smoothing out her skirt, then tapping the armrest, then cracking her knuckles- her hands couldn't stay still. To be fair, though, you weren't much better. Your mind was going a mile a minute.
What if he doesn't like me? What if my make up smudged? What if I'm not pretty enough? What if he isn't everything I imagined he'd be? What if I fell again? That would get old eventually right? What if I-
By the end of it, you were hyperventilating. You were starting to cry and slowly sank to your knees. It was too much, you couldn't handle this pressure and fear and unknown and-
You didn't even notice when Luna started to panic, or when Charlie and Moni nudged Lily, motioning towards you. You missed when she stood up and walked over, sitting on the floor next to you, and when she quietly called your name. You almost missed when she put a hand on your shoulder, but when she said your name again, a little bit louder, your head finally shot up.
Now that she had your attention, she put both her hands over her nose and mouth, then helping you mimic the motion, before keeping one hand on yours and holding the other up in your line of sight. Your eyes met, and in her blue ones you found comfort and calm, with a hint of suppressed anxiety, her nerves seemingly gone.
"Breathe with me."
She started breathing and counting with her fingers.
She started with inhaling through her mouth, and counting to 4 on her fingers. You tried to match her pattern. She then held the breath for 7 seconds, before letting it the air back out through her mouth for 8. The first time around, the exercise did little to help, but by the 3rd pass, your hyperventilation was nonexistent.
[Unfortunately this exercise doesn't always work this fast, but I've helped many friends through panic attacks before and this always works eventually. Its been scientifically proven that by holding your breathing/ holding your breath, etc. for this amount of time, it causes a sort of brain reset that can calm you pretty effectively. I do this every time I'm about to perform in a play or give a speech and it really helps clear you mind. Okay, enough talk, back to the storyyy. XD]
You and your group were so focused on Lily's and your breathing that you didn't even realize when Jack had come into the room. At least, you didn't until he was running to you and Lily in a blur of navy and fluorescent green.
Really? Now? When I'm on the ground? AGAIN?! What do I even say?
Thankfully, Lily made the decision for you by standing and offering a hand to help you up. You accepted it with a grateful smile before standing, brushing off your dress and wiping your eyes.
There goes all hope of having good makeup...
"Goodness, are you two alright? What happened? Do you need a doctor?" Jack's eyes dashed between you and Lily's. Once again, Lily acted for both of you.
"Everything's fine. The ground just looked like it was feeling lonely. There is nothing to worry about."
You were confused, until you noticed that everyone was laughing or at least snickering at the joke Lily had made, effectively taking the focus off of your anxiety and onto humor. You mentally thanked her before laughing along with the others.
You did notice, however, that Jack still glanced at you concernedly before smiling at Lily's humor. You knew what you and him would talk about on your one on one time at least. Speaking of, who would get to go first...?
