I'd been working at Maya's for about a week. I woke up at 6:00 every morning and took a short drive to the cute shop to start work every morning at 6:45. The shop itself opened at 7:30 AM.

Ever since I started working, Bellamy visited the shop everyday to get his coffee.

Occasionally, Octavia stopped by, but she had a difficult schedule ever since she started working for a man named Lincoln Woods. The Lincoln Woods.

He's a very famous CEO in Arkadia and he offered O the job, so she took it. I would, too.

"How is it working for Mr. CEO?" I asked Octavia through the phone while washing the dishes.

"Great!" she said happily. "I mean great," she lowered her voice to make it seem like she wasn't excited with her new job. I could see straight through her act.

"Suuuree," I dragged sarcastically. "I can practically hear you blushing brought the phone, O," I rolled my eyes.

"Its great, C. He treats me with so much respect and I'm only his personal assistant," she said.

"You deserve it," I added.

Now Octavia is no saint. She'd smoked many cigarettes in her life while I hold my breath in public when people smoke in the vicinity, she'd gone to clubs and had one nights stands with random people who've probably had STD's while I waited a long time to lose my virginity and I only save myself for people who are special to me, and she once got arrested for punching a male police officer who made a sexist comment after giving her a ticket.

She's not the most innocent person ever, but she deserves the world.

I finished up drying the dishes when Monty walked into the room with Jasper. More accurately, racing each other for the leftovers.

In the café, we made tons of deserts and drinks, and a fair amount of people stopped by every day so there were only a couple of leftovers at the end of the day.

Today, there was only one chocolate cake. They're favorite.

"Jasper, that cake is mine!" Monty called dibs, but Jasper got to the forks first.

"Not if it's gone by the time you can reach it," Jasper replied. They both looked at the plate of cake, then at each other. The plate. Each other.

The next second they were racing across the kitchen to snatch it. Before they did, I reached over my shoulder and picked up the plate with the chocolate delicacy and grab a fork. In the blink of an eye, the entire cake was filling my mouth, watering my eyes.
