"It's delicious, Ms. Griffin," Bellamy tasted the Fettuccini Alfredo. "Tastes like it always has."Kane and my mom sat on one side of the table, Bellamy and I on the other. My mom prepared an Italian feast for us with the help of Kane's kitchen skills.
"Thank you, Bellamy. Just call me Abby," she instructed and Bellamy nodded.
"Thank you, Abby, for making dinner," he corrected himself.
"It's been a while, huh? Since we've done this," I mentioned, everyone's attention on me.
"Yeah, I have to say I'm glad," my mom responded.
We all agreed while eating our meal.
Bellamy's cellphone rang and you could practically hear his heart race through his chest. Ever since the night of Octavia and Raven's accident, Bellamy became scared of his ringtone.
He sighed in relief when he realized it was Murphy, probably sending him some disgusting recipe just like Raven would send me. I grabbed his hand under the table and squeezed gently, letting him know I was there for him.
"Sorry," he apologizes. "I can't have anything happen again. I'm not mentally prepared."
"It's okay, Bell. We understand," I explain and squeeze tighter.
We finished our meals in silence and Bellamy decided it was time to go.
I led him to the front door and held it open for him. "Thank you for coming," I said.
"I'm glad I did. Your mom makes killer Fettuccini Alfredo. Sure beats that rotten cheese shit Raven and Murphy made," he chuckled and I blushed.
"Sure does," I agreed.
He leaned down and gently planted his lips on my cheek. His lips lingered for a second or two, and I was stuck with a euphoric feeling that would last forever.
"Thank you for inviting me, princess," he pulled away and stared into my eyes with a smirk.
"No problem," I replied in a haze. He left me in shock.
"Lexa! Hey, do you remember me?"
"Oh, yeah. You're Bellamy's friend," she remembered. "How can I help you?"
I held up a veil. "My mom didn't like this for her dress. She's looking for something more simple," I answered.
"Sure thing," she led me to a veil section where hundreds of white, rose, and cream-colored veils were hung upon the walls. "Anything pique your interest?"
I trace my hands across the silk-covered wall when my eyes come across a plain white veil. It was gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. I couldn't believe that something so simplistic could be so unique and perfect.
My mom was going to walk down the aisle. And I saw her doing so in that veil.
"This one," I grasped the white, silky material between my fingers. "It's beautiful, Lexa."
She took the veil off of the wall and I bought it more than ready to see the gorgeous material on my mom.
"So, how's Bellamy?" she wiggled her eyebrows.
"He's great," I responded. "But Octavia got in an accident..."
"Did she?" her face went pale as her eyes widened. When I nodded, she froze. "Is she okay?"
"Yes, she's recovering," I relieved her. "So how's....," I forgot her girlfriends name. "Costia?" I tried.
She giggled. "Costia's amazing. We love each other so much," she blushed.
"I'm happy for you," I added.
"I'm happy for you, too."
"What for?" my eyebrows arose in questions as she wiggles her eyebrows once again.
"Oh honey, Bellamy is great in bed. I mean, to put it in words...he is a god. You should know," she said.
I could have sworn my eyes were popping out of their sockets as my face blew up into a dark crimson. "Oh my god, no. No, Bell....Bellamy and I are not together. As in we aren't dating," I clarified.
"Yet," Lexa said. "I hope your mom enjoys the veil. And her groom," she winked and left to go help a new customer.
I was stuck standing there alone.
I started the car in the parking lot when I got a text from my mom wondering where I was.
"Coming home now," I texted back.
I would forever be disturbed by what Lexa told me.
He is a god.
What's that supposed to mean?......in bed?
No.
I turned up the volume, allowing anyone walking passed my car to hear the music. What was I supposed to think about it? I had to stop myself before my thoughts became specific.
I winced, cringed, and slowly brought myself back to present so I could drive home to my mom.
