Echo. What kind of a name is that?

Okay maybe it was a pretty name, but at the time I felt betrayed and slightly heartbroken. The last time I saw Echo, she broke Bellamy's heart. First, she cheated on him with his best friend Aaron and when Bellamy took her back after weeks of apologizing, she gave him the ultimatum that decided whether my friendship with him was more important than their relationship.

Her or me.

Of course, Bellamy chose me over her and broke up with Echo. Thank God things turned out that way because she didn't deserve him.

I was starting to think no one deserved Bellamy Blake.

Anyway, Echo was a cold-hearted bitch. Why on earth would he choose her to be his date for my mother's wedding?

Me: What??

Rae: Yeah, it's all over her feed on Instagram. The nerve.

I was about to check it out when I got a text from Octavia.

O: Okay I don't know what's going on with my brother, but this isn't normal. He snapped for some reason.

O: Just do me a favor. Don't check out Instagram because that bitch Echo is all over his feed.

Me: I know.

O: You checked?

Me: No. I won't look, but Raven told me anyway.

I love my friends.

It was a busy day at Maya's that everything turned to shit

It was a busy day at Maya's that everything turned to shit. I was doing my normal thing, preparing beverages and wiping off tables when Bellamy and his wedding date came strolling in.

"How can I hel--," I paused when I saw them, my smile dropping. "Oh. Hi."

"Long time, no see," Echo pulled me into her embrace. She was fake, okay? I only knew this because she made Bellamy choose between us only a couple of years earlier. She couldn't have changed that quickly. This was all an act on her part.

"Yeah. Wow Echo, you look.......great," my smile began to hurt.

"Thank you," she replied. She didn't even compliment me back. Okay, then. My gaze turned to Bellamy.

"Hi, Bell," I tried to grab his undivided attention. He was dazed off, not looking at us. When he finally looked at me I reminded him, "Thought you said you'd call me..."

He shook his head and pointed to his head. "My bad. I must've forget, huh."

"Huh." I was more than angry at this point. What the hell did he think he was doing? Making me jealous? I'm not the jealous type, so the joke was on him. "So...how can I help you?" I asked after a few awkward seconds of silence. Echo giggled.

"Do you have any milkshakes? Bell and I wanted to share one," she smirked.

It felt like my eyes rolled so far off of my head that they were in China. "This is a coffee shop," I pointed to the sign above our head that clarified the fact that we made "the world's greatest cup of coffee".

"That's strange," Echo rubbed her temple. "Bell, let's go to that place down the street instead, then."

He wasn't paying attention to her. Our eyes were locked the entire time. I knew what he was thinking about and he knew what I was thinking about. But, as I told him, our night together had to stay in the past for the better of our friendship. What I didn't realize was that night already did have an effect on our friendship anyway.

I broke our eye contact. "Yeah, maybe you should go," I suggested sadly.

"Okay." Bellamy said, still looking me straight in the eyes.

"Okay," I continued.

"Fine," he cleared his throat. "Let's go, baby."

I almost left with him, thinking he was talking to me. What the hell was wrong with me? I was the one pushing him away--not the other way around. I watched as Echo clasped her hand against him as they turned to leave. I almost cried on the spot, confused at what just happened.

I tend to cry at the most unnecessary times. It makes no sense. I mean, why would I be crying about Bellamy and Echo together? If he's happy, than I'm happy. It sure would've been nicer to know that he was happiest with me, though.

Before he exited my sight, he turned back around for the slightest second and smirked at me. Smirked.

And that was the moment I figured out what this was to him. It wall just a game in means of getting me jealous.

I smiled. His feelings for Echo were nonexistent and he was only trying to get me to feel something for him.

And I do.

Well the joke was on him because if there was any person who knew how to play a game and win, it was me.

And I will win.

And I will win
