Ew.
Gross.
Not for me.
I sighed as I walked down the aisles of the bridal shop, searching for bridesmaid dresses. After the other day with Octavia, I needed to have had at least some intel on dresses.
"How can I help you?" An employee asked. A girl, only a little taller than me with brown hair and the most gorgeous big green eyes I'd ever seen walked up to me, holding a couple of hangers.
"Uh...yes. I'm actually looking for Bridesmaid dresses," I began, searching the store for my mom who was nowhere to be seen.
"Oh, yes. Of course. Preferences?" The girl asked, skimming the shelves for ideas.
"I'm not the bride," I clarified, "my mom is. I can't find her, so I'll need to get back to you on—," I paused when I spotted my mom in the bridal gown section. I turned to the employee, "sorry, I'll be right back."
"Mom," I made my way towards her and she dropped the gowns that she picked up from the shelves. "You already have a dress. You had you're bridal moment, now you have to do the boring stuff!" I scolded her and she grunted.
"Fine," she agreed and we made our way back to green-eyes. "I'm looking for dresses that stop right below the feet. Color-wise, I'm really hunting for a light, baby pink dress that might have a little bit of jewel on it...." my mother mused.
"Of course ma'am," the girl piped, leaving to go search for dresses.
Less than two minutes later, she came back with a handful of dresses for me to try on.
Yay.
Shopping has never been my forte, let alone trying on clothes at all. But this was for my mother, so I did it anyways.
I tried on dress after dress until we settled on, even I can attest to, a very beautiful and elegant baby pink dress with thin straps and a simplistic array of jewels at the top.
"That's so pretty," the employee chirped. "It's definitely my favorite."
"We will order it," my mom decided and asked the girl to put it on hold for us.
