I have known Lexianne for about three and a half years, and I never believed in love a first sight until laid eyes on her. It was my first day of enrollment at Berchley University when I spotted her across the grassy campus park. Umong the chaos of the people littering the frequent concrete walkways, she looked so calm. Sitting there stretched out underneath a large elm tree.
She was drawing something, her hand bobbing so elegently. I watched her for a while. She was gorgeous. She drew for a while and then raised the back of her pencil to her mouth and gently bit the tip of it. She stared deeply at her creation and then...glanced up at me. My heart nearly stopped.
She went back to drawing in the same manner as before immediately. Almost as if she hadn't seen me at all, but I knew she had, our eyes had locked, and now , on my first day, I had to look like the biggest creeper on campus. I decided to go up and apologize to her for being so rude, hopeful this wouldn't be the most awkward conversation of my life.I approached her, looking around with no particular target. I was just trying not to stare and make this anymore uncomfortable for either of us. As I reached her she stuck her hand out to motion for me to stop.
"Don't move." She said calmly before going back to her drawing. I looked at her, slightly confused with her apparent confidence. Before I managed to choke out, "uh, well...I just wanted to apologize for looking at you over there, I wasn't staring or anything, I just happened to glance over when you looked at me, and I didn't want you to get the wrong idea." She continued drawing for a second and then dropped her notebook slightly, she looked up at me with her oceanic eyes and giggled.
"That's ok, even if you were staring.". She winked and flashed me a look that even now, I find irresistable. "because I have a confession of my own." She let out another adorable giggle and flipped her sketchbook around so I could see it. "You make a great model, you have a really good face for it, and it helps that you didn't move for so long." She winks at me again. She was showing me a picture, of me! A really great one too, she got how I was sitting all the details in my clothes and even the smallest details in my face.
Having no creative talent of my own, I was blown away, and I wondered how she had done that in such a short amount of time. The thought made take a quick glance down at my watch. 7:27! I had been sitting on that bench for almost an hour! I felt my face go warm and I tried to find something to say to myself seem less strange.
She must've known what I was thinking because she stood up and quickly pressed her finger against my lips. "Shhh, don't even worry about it, if you feel that bad there is this place across campus that sells this great soda, I'd appreciate some company." Her smile knocked my mind out of place, and all I could manage to stammer out was "uh, yeah!"
