*Alexa*

After escaping the press outside with the help of the security guard of the hospital, we all headed towards Mia's room.

When I got there I saw Dr Bailey sleeping in a chair, but still holding Mia's hand as Mia watched Mister Maker on the tv.

I put my hands to my lips indicating everyone should be quiet so as not to disturb Dr Bailey and Derek ruffled Mia's hair as Daniel tickled her.

She tried to hold in the laughter but it burst out and Dr Bailey stirred awake.

"Oh good morning. You should've woken me up." she said as she checked Mia's charts again.

"We just got here and you looked like you needed your rest." I said with a smile at her as she waved me away.

"Nonsense. Where's Alex?"

"He should be on his way. So how's she doing?"

"Exceedingly well and she wouldn't need any surgery or anything."

"Surgery?"

"Oh no it's just that normally, when one's so young and the accident was so unexpected, the child may lose her voice or something but Mia's good. We just have to give her a lot of Vitamin C and she's back to normal."

"Wow. No pneumonia also?"

"Nope! Alex got her out just in time. A second later and I wouldn't be saying that."

I smiled at her as she left and everyone started talking at once and making Mia laugh and I just sunk into the chair Dr Bailey just vacated and watched Mister Maker.

I was about to go search for Alex when he walked in and signified for me to come out and I obliged.

"Any problem?"

He shook his head and I could see him looking a lot better than he was when I left him in the car.

"Michelle's here. With her family."

I felt so many emotions running through me. Among them were anger, surprise, a sense of loss.

"And?" I choked out.

"I like them Lexie and I know you'll like them too if you just give them a chance."

I nodded and he led the way.

He nodded towards Michelle and I just had to stop and stare.

They made such a stunning family, it was almost blinding.

Michelle with her red almost brown hair that was packed up accentuating her face and eyes that were of the deepest black. She was wearing a plain black gown that reached her knee and was flowing.

She paired it with a pink slim belt that gave it just the right touch of classiness.

Then beside her was the person I believe to be her husband.

He was laughing at something the girl said and he had his hands at Michelle's back.

He looked so laid back and relaxed that I could almost swear, without meeting him that he was a good father to his children and was probably a kind of guy Dad would have gotten along with well.

Then the only girl, Callie?

She was at her Dad's left hand and making her dad laugh looking so animated as she narrated something to him.

She was dressed in black skinnies, a white tank top that she paired with a pink blazer and black knee-high boots that accentuated her legs and made her look like a model.
