chapter 19

~1 week time skip~

"Lucian maybe we should give up looking. It's been a week and so far we found nothing. She might have left town" Jonathan told his best friend. 

It was the early morning before anyone was awake. Lucian couldn't help but get up and look for her.

Even if she didn't come back with him he just wanted to tell her how he felt.

"No she has to be here it would be impossible for her to leave town Edward is probably looking too and her father" Lucian told Jonathan.

Lucian stopped beside Jonathan. The sun had fully come up. People where starting to come out. Maybe it was time to stop for now.

Jonathan had asked Lucian to marry him and bea. They were still waiting for the papers. Then after Jonathan was going to take her home. He was done sailing. Lucian wanted the same but with rosalind. 

The two men headed back to the ship.
Lucian wasn't happy about giving up. He also couldn't look in the morning since winchester would be looking.
They had tried at night but Lucian knew she might not be out. Tonight he would try.

Rosalind was enjoying her time with Thomas and thelma. Thomas would tell her stories and make her laugh. Thelma was teaching her too cook and sew.

Thelma was a wonderful woman who took care of people. She was keep a close eye on the baby. Everyday rosalind got bigger. She was 3 months along now. She had a tiny bump under the dress she wore.

Thelma had given her a few dresses to wear. Rosalind quite enjoyed them. All were fitted nicely and had no corset.

"Aye miss rosalind would you like to go out in the evening get some fresh air. No one will be out and you can wear a cloke" Thomas asked her.

"I would love that very much."

Evening soon came rosalind was dressed in a cloke with the hood up. So no one would recognize her. 

The night air was cool on her skin. As she walked around the streets she kept her hand on Thomas arm. He was very protective of her. 

The wind came from the sea felt nice blowing at her hairs. Just for a second she pulled the hood off letting her hair flow in the wind.

"Miss rosalind don't panic but some one is approaching we must run" Thomas said. Before she could process what he had said he was dragging her down an alley.

Dead end unless they went over the wall.

"Stop running and I won't shoot" the man said pointing a gun at Thomas. 

That voice.....she knew it.....

Lucian.

Rosalind slipped her hood off and walked towards the man.

He slowly removed the hood that covered his face.

It was Lucian. 

"Rosalind....."

She didn't let him finish she jumped into his arms and kissed him. It had been too long since she had seen him. Did this mean he still loved her.

She broke from the kiss to face Lucian.

"Why are you here how are you here?"

So many questions swarmed her head. 

"I had to find you because I love you rosalind...I want you to marry me be my wife." He said.

His wife.

"Yes I will but Edward is still out there he wants me he wants to hurt me" he whispered out.

"She doesn't lie, Edward wants her in his clutch but he's going to murder the child" Thomas said.

I felt my heart stop Lucian didn't know about the baby...what if he left again?

Rosalind turned to face Lucian his face was full of suprise and joy.

"Our baby" he asked

She nodded

"This is wonderfull news my love how far along have you been safe with him eating right. I am so so sorry this is my fault" Lucian said.

Thomas had come around pushing Lucian and Rosalind out of the streets towards the home they had been staying at.

Lucian didn't let go of rosalind the whole time. He could bare lose her again.

Thelma was in the kitchen cooking when they got back.

"Aye you been gone too long I was worried sick" she yelled stopping as she saw Lucian.

"I must return with rosalind right away" Lucian spoke to thelma.

"Over my dead body" thelma yelled waving a spoon at him.

"That girl is pregnant and needs someone to watch her until her due"

Rosalind wanted thelma to deliver the babe for her. Thelma had delivered all the babies on this part of London.  She never lost one.

Lucian looked tense he wasn't going to leave her again. "Ma'am this is my fiancé and my child so I'll be damned of you think I am leaving them here." Lucian snapped.

Rosalind was shocked at how rude he could be and a bit scared.

"Fine then I am coming with you" thelma said packing some things.

Rosalind felt a spark of joy in her. She was excited to have thelma with her.

Night was still upon them so Lucian took rosalind back to the ship. Thelma would join in the morning so she had time to pack. 

Lucian didn't let rosalind out of his sights till they were on the ship safe.

Bea was the first to jump at her and hug her. The two barely knee each other but became rather close.

Lucian left them to gossip and talk about the baby. Baby. It felt weird for him to think of it. He was going to be a father.

"Aye mate something on your mind" Jonathan came up next to him.

"I am going to be married and have a child all at once. Trying to process it."

Jonathan looked to Lucian in shock.

"Aye you got the lass pregnant! You gunna be a father. Congrats mate"

Lucian smiled and looked to rosalind. He just noticed she had a small bump on her stomach. His baby. And she his fiancé. 

He was bound to marry her right away.
