It's been years since you were alone in the world. Although you told yourself that in the end, everything would be okay, when was the end? You sigh, your pencil tapping on the desk as you stared out the window. A flock of geese fly by in the famous v shape they're in. A strong pull tugs at your chest, reminding you of all the horrible memories. You shake the thoughts away and try to concentrate on the work presented in front of you. It was easy review, but for some reason, you couldn't seem to answer the first question. A train of insults drive by your mind, attacking every one of your insecurities. Your hands grip the edge of your desk and your breath becomes labored. While on the verge of crying from all of the stress and build up of negative things going on in your life, a small paper airplane lands on your desk. You look around the room and see a familiar face in the desk next to you. It's one of the twins, but you just don't know which one he was. He wore a warm, comforting smile and you just flashed a fake one in return. You open the plane and read the message that it contained.
"(F/N), was it? I'm Hitachiin Kaoru, but I'm sure you already know that. :P You always look so sad when I try to take a peek at your lovely face! v-v If you need anyone to talk to, visit me after school in Music Room #3~ I'll be waiting for you there."
After you read the message, you wipe the tears that tries to trail down your cheek. Music Room 3? Wasn't that the host club that all the girls have been talking about? He probably just wrote it to get another fan girl... You sigh and crumple the piece of paper up and throw it away. You don't bother glancing towards Kaoru's direction for the rest of the class. Meanwhile, Kaoru can't seem to look away from you, as he wonders if he wrote something wrong to make you upset. When Hikaru gives him a worried look, the other twin just shakes his head and shows Hikaru a reassuring grin. After class is dismissed, you immediately pack your things so that you're not late to your next class. When you leave the room, from the corner of your eye, you see one of the twins walking beside you not saying a word. Probably Kaoru. You look up at him with a small, fake smile.
"Is there something you need?" You ask, thinking about the message that he wrote. "I'll make sure to smile and I'll visit you in the music room, so don't worry." The lies flow out of your mouth easily since you've done it so many times before. Kaoru watches you closely and doesn't respond for a moment.
"I can see through you." He states with a hint of disapproval in his words. "It's not good to lie to people who want to help you and make you smile, you know?" You just nod along with what he says, not really listening.
"Right, of course. Well, I'll be on my way." You say quietly, your mood staying the same. Your foot stops in place when you feel a large hand on your shoulder, stopping you from going to your destination. The hand swings you so that you're facing him and then brings you in close. He leads you towards a deserted hallway before speaking again.
"Don't try to push me away, because I know you need someone like me right now." He whispers in your ear and lightly kisses your neck. "Just let it out. No one's here to judge." No words leave your lips to respond to him. But you do listen to his words. You let your tears flow in the arms of someone who cares and is willing to be by your side no matter what.
