Melanie's P.O.V I woke up feeling Preston kicking into my ribs, I opened my eyes seeing them both laying side ways. This was a king size bed but their little bodies will still take it all up. I didn't see Bruno so they must have kicked him out sooner.
I carefully got up and started to head down stairs. "Bruno?" I whispered his name knowing he could hear me from anywhere in this house. I looked everywhere but couldn't find him. I grabbed my phone dialing his number, hopefully he has his phone with him. I then heard the sound of vibration, I followed it to the living room seeing his phone on the table. I walked closer to it seeing my contact picture was a picture of us but not any picture it was the very first one we took when we were just friends and above it was my caller ID as "My Forever❤️" I smiled then hung up.
Where could he be?
Bruno's P.O.V I looked around making sure no one was around and covered my self creeping through the woods. I used my hearing and sight to make sure there was no hunters or campers near me. I'm so close to home I just have to make sure to move very slowly and carefully.
"Bruno?" I looked around hearing Melanie's voice in the distance I hid behind a tree seeing the back yard of the house over our fence. I didn't bother looking once more and began to walk out then a voice came from the distance I quickly hid back behind the tree.
"I thought I heard something." A man spoke.
"Come on Dj I'm sure it was just a rabbit or something small." Another voice said.
"So I like rabbit too."
"Don't you shoot you'll scare off the bucks up ahead!" I man was now on the other side of the tree if he seen me who knows what will happen. I could hear my heart beating up in my ears. Just then a deer sprinted past us in the distance.
"Look there Jim! That's one beauty!"
"Go follow it!" The man ran back the other way making me exhale out the breath I didn't know I was holding in.
Once they were far enough I called back out to Melanie who was still whispering my name throughout the house.
"Melanie I'm outside in the woods, grab me some clothes I'll explain later." I quickly sprinted to the yard jumping over the fence and hid behind my grill. The sliding door open and I seen Melanie holding my things and looking around for me.
"Where are you?"
"I'm over here." She ran to the grill and I slowly stood up looking to her and she dropped my things.
"Bruno! What happened to you? Who's blood is this? A-are you okay" She said grabbing my face scared.
"I'm fine I promise. It's a deer's blood, I don't remember what happened I just woke up like this with a deer next to me."
"We need to call Dom. Come on let's get you cleaned up." She wrapped a towel around me walking ahead of me making sure the kids were still asleep.
After breakfast Dom and all of them came. Sarah kept the kids busy in their room while we all talked in the kitchen.
"How can this happen? I've never forgotten when I go hunting."
"What's the last thing you remember?" Dominic said
"The kids came in the room when they heard the storm and we went to bed." I closed my eyes thinking hard and I got a flashback of me running in the woods, hearing a voice whisper to me "how do you run from what is inside your head"

I looked to everyone and shook my head, "That's it, I don't remember anything else."
"Did you have any dreams?" Alice said sitting at the counter writing things down.
I started to think and I remember I did. "I did actually have a dream, it's the same dream I've been having since I got back." I said looking down and Melanie came to me carefully touching my hand. I looked to her and smiled. "I dream that I'm still in that facility getting beat and experimented on."
"Was the dream different from other nights? What happens in this dream?" Dominic said with a confused look.
I closed my eyes trying to think of the horrible nightmare. "I'm strapped to a cold metal table, to my left are all this different tools and the guards are beating me. Charles then appears out of the dark and laughs down at me calling me an animal." I said with my eyes still closed feeling my blood boil. "He steps away as the nurses began to cut me open, some nights it feels like it's really happening. But this night they didn't do that, th-they do it to someone else while I watch."
"To who Peter?" I slowly looked up to Melanie as her eyes were filled with curiosity and innocence.
"T-to you." I said as my voice cracked trying to hold back my tears. "They make me watch and I can't do nothing about it, I just hear you cry out in pain."
Melanie grabs me pulling me to hug her. "It's not real Peter I'm right here." I hug her tighter and Dominic rubs my shoulder.
"Do you think that's what makes you mad and triggers you to shift?"
"I don't know but I know who can give us the answers we need." I said reaching for my phone and calling the number on my contact list.
We all waited in the living room and there was a knock at the door.
"I got it." Victor said walking to the door answering it, we heard him greet our guest and walk to us. We all stood up hugging them.
"We missed you!" I said hugging Sonia and Tony.
"We missed you guys too! I don't think I could ever thank you enough for paying for our college." Tony said sitting across from me.
"No of course man."
"So you guys are the only people that can help us right now." Melanie said to them "Bruno hasn't been his self since he came back, Sonia I know you worked in the nurse department do you remember what they were doing to him?"
"No we weren't allow to know anything, they just tell us what to do that day and that's it. The guard made sure we did do what we had to do."
"Why what's wrong?" Tony said looking worried. I looked to everyone and then back to them.
"The past few nights I've had these nightmares and last night I woke up in the woods not remembering what happened the night before."
"Oh no." Sonia softly said looking down.
"W-what? What is it?"
"It's the procedure i-it must have been successful."
"Wait what are you talking about? What procedure?" Melanie said grabbing me hand tightly.
