Chapter 12

{Athena}

I can't believe that it has already been two weeks since my parents and I arrived here, and now I have to say goodbye to them. My parents that is.

      We are standing on the giant white porch in front of my brand new home. Apparently Griffin and his father had been working on his house for when Griffin found his mate.

       Lorena informed me that it was her idea, and how she believed that a new couple needed their own house. And how it wasn't good for a young alpha couple to be surrounded by pack mates all the time.

          The house was a Victorian style house, with ivy growing up the sides. The porch was large, with two matching rocking chairs.

      Inside the house was even more amazing. There was a kitchen filled with all the modern day cutlery that one could dream of. The bedrooms interiors were a mixture of Victorian and modern style that worked splendidly together.

           THE BEST PART ABOUT THE MASTER BEDROOM WAS THE CLOSET!!!!!!!!

        Yes there was more to the house but let's be honest, the closet was the real star. There was a giant walk in closet with shelfs covering two of the walls and so many hangers and drawers I didn't think I even had enough clothes to fill them! And there was a whole wall dedicated to just shoes and handbags! I couldn't believe that this was happening!!!!! Who knows I may end up rejecting Griffin and mating this closet!

      But getting back on topic, I reluctantly say goodbye to my parents. I hug my mother tightly as we both cry and blubber like babies. She promises that she will come and visit soon, and that she will send all my things as soon as they get home.

      I pull myself together before I turn to my father. He has a stern look but his eyes are moist as he stares at me. That is all it takes before I am crying again, as I launch myself at him. He holds me tight and whispers "Griffin may be your mate, and you may be an adult now. But to me you will always be my little girl, I am going to miss your shining smile and spunky attitude around the house. I love you my little Athena and I wish you all the best with your new mate and pack."

Then in a deep booming voice he says "I alpha Xavier of the Silver Souls pack release you my dear daughter Athena from this pack."

        I felt my bonds with my pack breaking. It was like a string snapped in me, it was there and then suddenly gone. I looked at my father and he smiled one last time at me.

       Then he turned away and wrapped his arms around my crying mother as they walk to the car that will take them to the airport. I clung to Griffin as I watch through my tears as my parents get into the car that would take them miles away.

       We watched the car until it was out of sight.

     That night during a meeting with Griffin and his father. Griffin explains to me that the ceremony to join the pack will be in exactly one month. During that ceremony I will take the blood oath, and not only become a member of the pack but also Luna, and Griffin will finally take his rightful place as alpha now that he has a Luna to rule besides him.

{2 weeks later}

Today Lina is coming, and I couldn't be more excited. I have gotten to know Kaiser better and once we got over the awkwardness he is actually a really nice guy. He has been telling me stories of when he, Lina, and Griffin were younger.

Apparently Griffin got mad once that the teacher only gave a C to his Spider-Man report. It was a paper on real live heros and to a 2nd grade Griffin it was a real insult to Spider-Man when the teacher told him that Spider-Man wasn't real.

He was able to talk 5 year old Lina into letting him borrow some of her clear nail polish, and that night during a school fundraiser Kaiser and Griffin snuck back into the classroom. They put nail polish on every single writing tool that the teacher had!

Watching the teacher the next day try to write was hilarious. He ended up breaking 4 pens, 6 pencils and 3 dry erase markers out of pure frustration.

By the end of the story I was laughing so hard. Who knew that my possessive mate could have been such a stinker as a child!

I was just finishing up making some chocolate chip cookies when I heard a commotion outside the pack house. Looking out the big kitchen window, I spotted a leggy blonde stepping out of the car.

She appeared to be around 5'10 and had on killer heels that only added to her height. The male werewolves were tripping over themselves to help her with her many many bags, and here I thought I packed too much luggage.

I knew instantly that this was Lina but what really surprised me was the dark scowl on her face. All the stories that Kaiser had told me about her, were of her smiling and being a happy go lucky person.

This scowling, blonde was not what I was expecting at all!

After gawking out the window for a few minutes I decided to put my big girl pants on and go out and greet her.

When I walked out the door to greet her, she stopped hugging Kaiser to openly stare at me.

I couldn't help but feel self conscious, I was in plain faded blue denim skinny jeans, a pale pink ruffled top, and my handy dandy black converse. Looking at this blonde beauty in front of me I felt as though I didn't measure up.

She was dressed to the nines. She had on designer jeans by a French designer with a name I could never begin to be able to pronounce. Her hair was curled to perfection and hung in gorgeous shiny curls all the way down to her mid back. She had on diamond earrings and diamond bracelets and diamond everything. I think even her shoes had diamonds! And those killer heels I would die to have them! I mean I would probably die wearing heels that high, but what I wouldn't give to add them to my collection!

We both finished our inspections of eachother at the same time, I offered her a friendly smile and all she offered me was sly smirk.

I felt like Cinderella when she was dressed in rags while her sisters were going to the ball in Gucci. But the thing that worried me the most was the smile that lit her face when my mate stepped out the front door.

I got the chapter up really early this time guys!!!!!! I just couldn't wait to publish it and found some time to write so here it is! What do you think of Lina?!?!? And what will Griffins response be to this blonde beauty! Also we reached 10k reads!!!!! I can't help but be in awe of you guys! You make being a writer worth it! Will try to update again next weekend maybe I will be able to do another early update we will have to see :)
