Nikolai p.o.v

My brain is not functioning. I can't think of anything. Crap.!!

She never leaves my mind, She's always there. Mentally if not physically. It's just incomprehensible.

He buzzed in Sophie in his intercom to confirm his appointment for today.

"Sophie, do you have my schedule for today.? Is there something important that we need not cancel? "

"Yes sir, not at all. Ahm, do you want me to cancel it for today.?" she sighs.

"Yes. Let them know and move all my schedule on Monday perhaps."

"Okay, sir. No problem. Anything else.?"

"No Sophie. That's all." And he hung up.

It's been in his head and nagging him to talk to his friend, Matthew.

He ignored all my calls. Is he jealous or still feel guilty about what he did to her.?? this is not the usual Matthew, I used to hang out with..... What is his problem?

He's pacing in his office back and forth like a caged lion ready to pounce on someone.

When his intercom sounded off.

"Yes, Sophie."

"Sir, your father is on line one," Said Sophie over the intercom.

Nikolai sighed. He hadn't spoken to his father in months and couldn't understand what he'd need. He was given updates through Luis on the recent merger of Renaulthe and Bolinski Enterprises.

"Thank you, Sophie. I have it." He replied. He took a moment to clear his thoughts before picking up the phone. He knew he'd need wits in full before taking the call.

"Hello, father. What can I do for you?" he asked coldly.

Nikolai had been working his ass to tripled the profits during his reign as president and the corporation was worth billions of dollars today. Many lives depended on him to make their living. He didn't see what his father had to do with it by worrying about this merger.

Most of their business was done Internationally and their home office here in New York is growing significantly, but Nikolai had no desire to discuss business with him at the moment.

He knew he could be a hard-nosed boss at times, but he felt he was fair. If his employees did their job well, they had nothing to fear. He just didn't tolerate errors or slacking, so if they messed up, there were no second chances. He knew pretty well his father knows everything about his manner of doing business.

Why did he call...

"Um, that's not the way a son should talk to his father." a long pause at his end.

"Sorry, Dad I got quite hectic schedules here and meetings lately. It's hard to keep tabs."

"It's okay, I know it's been a long day for you, son."

" Thanks, Dad," he murmurs.

"Don't worry about it. I'm not here to talk about business." He sighs.

Nikolai is really in the right mood. I might help him a little by uplifting his day today. Mr. Bolinski thought of.

"What is it Dad, spit it out." He's imagining his father is smirking.

"Well, we just missed seeing you around the house. Your Mom is asking me to invite you to dinner. Your brother is coming and your sister is home for the weekend."
