Chapter 32 - Engagement / Presscon

New York City...

After two weeks of their engagement, when everything is back to normal, someone or somehow Nikolai's proposal leaked out into the media. All pictures and videos were there. Even social media were flooded with their photos. Society pages are flooded with the news also. Different entertainment news channel on television doing live shows posted their pictures.

The heiress Alesandra Renaulthè and the most sought-after billionaire, Nikolai Bolinski got engaged in Paris.

Hearing the news, the media and press went into a wild frenzy. The media does actually revolves around them. Everyone wants their faces on every magazine and society pages. They were like hungry wolves. They wanted something and digging every information they could have.

The difficulty started when the media and press people even paparazzi kept harassing them. Following them everywhere. Taking photos of them. They can't even get out easily because paparazzi were trailing them behind.

Nikolai's phone kept ringing and there is always media and press calling to ask for interviews. His family is being harassed also. Luis and his staff were being followed by the media.

Alesandra's phone and La' Belles reception area received a thousand calls, and non-stop inquiries for an interview. Employees, co-workers, friends, and families were being harassed by the paparazzi.

Catalina also was caught off guard on her way to work outside the building when she steps out in her car. She is ambushed for an interview on live coverage on television and was bombarded with many questions. She declined and didn't utter a single word even if it is on a live television show.

It took a toll on everyone around them especially La' Belles employees. Media and press people were rude to them and sometimes say offending words to everyone just to get any details about the engagement of Alesandra and Nikolai. It comes to a point that no one wants to step outside of the building. They were being hauled up in their own office.

Because of what's happening around them and everyone was being harassed and affected, Nikolai and Alesandra decided to have a press conference so that it will be a one-time big-time event. Hopefully to avoid everyone being haunted by the paparazzi's and to end all this harassment. This is the best possible way they can do it.

Alesandra decided to come out and to meet her team in La' Belle headquarters. She asks Mandy to be their spokesperson and ask to write a press statement for her to the media and address it in public. Mandy agreed and everyone was happy with her decision and to put a stop to provocation from paparazzi's.

The following day, Mandy gave a public statement addressing the media. "Ladies and gentlemen, on behalf of the newly engaged couple, Ms. Renaulthè and Mr. Bolinski, were happy to announce that they decided to have a press conference in two weeks from now. For the details of the said presscon, La' Belle's office will give you detailed information on where and when it will be held. We will make another announcement again after a week. Thank you very much. Good day."

Catalina, on the other hand, talked to Alesandra about her plan to issue their own story within two weeks. They need to get hold of all pictures and videos surfacing the internet and the media. It was not in the contract signed by the event organizer in Paris. She wants La' Belle to get exclusive rights for the said engagement. La' Belle will issue their own cover story and to take advantage of the situation at hand.

Nikolai and Alesandra signed a contract for the exclusive rights and authorize only La' Belle to print the full story of their engagement.

Catalina is in her office busy planning and writing down every detail of the magazine to print out in two weeks. They need to beat the odds. She spent the rest of the afternoon typing up notes and filling things until she felt her brain was completely fried up.
