It's been three weeks since I first came to stay at the manor, only until things cooled down on the League of Assassins' threats of coming after me. There wasn't much to go off of since Bruce would refuse to answer any questions I asked or talk about it. I don't know why he thought keeping me in the dark would help anything.

I just got off from my shift at the diner, and now I'm following Alfred up the steps to the door. I'm surprised to see two faces walking across the corridor, stopping when we enter; one face is familiar, the other isn't.

My eyebrow raises in confusion, "Dick?"

He shares the same expression, "Bribri?"

"Justin." The unfamiliar man with light eyes and light hair says as Alfred closes the door and takes my jacket.

"Where's Jay?" Dick asks with furrowed brows and I brush hair from my face.

"Not here." I huff in annoyance, "And he's not answering my calls."

"And why are you not with him?" He asks curiously while the other man nudges his arm.

"Gonna introduce me or what?"

Dick rolls his eyes and sighs a little before gesturing his hand out to me, "Brielle, meet my friend Justin. Justin, meet Brielle."

"Best friend and ex girlfriend." I smile and take his hand to shake, finding it large and soft.

"Sounds about right." He chuckles gently, scruff neat over his jaw. Handsome indeed, but I wonder if there was ever someone not-good-looking that Dick hung out with.

I glance back over to Dick, "Why are you here? Don't you have a job in Blüdhaven?"

"I'm on leave right now, and I usually stay here when that happens. Plus I have a date with the special lady tonight." He grins cheekily, making me laugh a little.

"You two actually go on dates? I actually thought you only fucked her and smiled like a little kid with candy afterwards." I play as I slowly start walking away from the two.

"Ha, funny. I was gonna say the same thing about you and Jason." Dick replies while crossing his arms with a titter.

"I mean, you wouldn't be wrong." I smirk knowingly, waving goodbye to head up to my room. I get in the shower and then pull on pajamas when I get out and dry off.

I move across the room to grab my purse and take my phone out to see if Jason had replied to me or not and he hasn't.

My brows furrow a little and I toss the phone on the bed before leaving the room to go to the kitchen. It's empty when I walk in and then I look through it til I find myself in the mood for a nice glass of tea and cookies.

I'm leaning on the island, my tea on the stove, when the door swings open to Bruce, hand bringing a mug up to his lips. When his eyes land on me, without a word, he turns around and walks back out the kitchen.

"Bruce!" I call, following him out quickly before he could disappear. I grab his arm to stop him and step in front of him while his eyes roll.

"What do you want, Brielle?"

"You know exactly what I want: answers Bruce!" I snap my fingers in his face to wake him the fuck up, "Answers!"

He lowers my hand from his face with a calming breath, shaking his head a little, "I told you already everything you needed to know. Until underground threats are over from Terrick and Jerrick, you stay here."

He pushes pass me and continues down the hall, frustration boiling inside of me, "That's all you're really gonna give me!?"

"Yep." He simply replies, turning the corner and going out of sight. I feel the urge to break something, my hands semi-curling up as I look around for something until I just groan loudly to suffice.
