The customer bell goes off and I begin to greet while wiping off the lower counter of the bar. I look back up to Jason entering, a smile on his face.
I shed a closed smile, raising a brow as he walks and sits at the stool in front of me.
"Well, hello." I greet, continuing to clean up the mess I accidentally made.
"Well, hello." He repeats, smile brightening.
I lick my lips and tuck in the bottom one as I grab a menu. As I begin to hand it to him, he wags his hand a little, "Nah, imma wait until my friend gets here."
I tilt my head to the side a little, "You're really trying to give me extra work, huh?"
"It's not that," He grins, locking his hands together on the countertop, "I just wanted him to meet you. He should be here any minute now."
"Meet me?" I question, narrowing my eyes a little.
"Mhm." He hums, making me chuckle.
"He knows me?" I continue to ask and he nods. Scratching his chin a little, "Yeah. He's like...my Izzy."My brows raise, a brighter smile lighting across my lips, "Oh really?"
"Yes really." He mocks playfully, "I figured if I met your friends, you should meet mine."
"And here I am thinking you didn't have any." I joke, unable to hold back my small laugh from the way he glares. It changes to something warm when I grab four menus, hearing and seeing the party of four enter the diner.
I walk from behind the bar and seat the customers at an open booth, slightly far from the bar. Luckily, it wasn't too busy today, so I took my time.
Politely waving to customers that come in regularly, I lead them to the right, then take another right turn. I seat the newcomers and take their drink orders first.
The four adults all ordered day cocktails, which is more work for me but I didn't mind all that much. I'm still writing down the last cocktail name when I make it back to the bar, my peripheral vision making sure I don't run into anyone or anything.
"Brielle." Jason says, and I look up at him with raised brows, "Mhm?"
My eyes look over to a man with bright auburn hair now sitting beside him. His blue eyes widen a little while he watches me approach the bar, standing directly across from them as Jason introduces us. "Brielle, this is Roy. Roy, this is Brielle."
He gestures his finger out to me, looking at Jason, "This is her?"
I raise a brow and slightly tilt my head from his question as Jason chuckles and leans his crossed arms on the bar counter, "Yes, this is her, Roy."
"What?" I chuckle, looking at Jason's friend with confusion as to why he'd ask that.
"Nothing, it's just that I didn't exactly picture you like this." Roy answers and I cross my arms.
"And how did you picture me?" I question and he slightly leans back, a smile crossing his lips. He smacks Jason's arm with the back of his hand playfully, "Oh you weren't joking. She does have some sass to her."
"You haven't seen sass." I smirk, slightly shaking my head before looking over at Jason, "Better tell him, Jason."
"Yeah, you haven't seen sass." He agrees, laughing a little. Jason continues, "He didn't believe me when I described how beautiful you were."
I raise another brow, expecting one of these days for them to just fall off. "And what else have you been describing?"
He only clears his throat as Roy gestures his hand out to me.
