I was currently making a strawberry shake and caramel latte for table 8 when I looked up to the entrance directly in front of the bar when the customer bell went off.
It surprised me to see Jason walk in with the blonde from the party beside him. He smiled brightly when seeing me as they approach the bar.
I smile back, realizing this may have been why he's been gone the pass three days. Today's now Wednesday and I never even got the chance to ask him if he wanted to go to Izzy's "event" with me.
They sat on the stools in front of me as I greet them, "Hey."
"Hey." He replies back happily, and the blonde waves her hand. He gestures his hand out to her, "This is Emily."
I smile, reaching over to shake her hand, "Brielle."
She nods and smiles, "Right, your roommate. Nice to meet you."
Roommate?
I guess we both avoided the fact that I was kind of the only thing that took Jason away from her at the party, but who's holding grudges? Apparently she wasn't if she was here.
"You two on another date or something?" I ask after handing them menus, brow raising a little as I look down at the latte, circling the whip cream on top of it.
"Eh..." Jason drags out and she playfully nudges her elbow against his arm, smiling sweetly, "Yes, we are."
"You're paying for it." He confirms with a smile, looking back over at her. My chin raises, a little surprise striking me. I slowly nod my head and smile, "Well, can I get you two anything?"
They began to order and I avoided how I really felt by laughing and smiling along with them.
"I told her this was the best diner in Gotham, and she didn't believe me. She only goes to five star restaurants-"
"I do not." She interrupts and he looks back at me while nodding his head with a small, knowing smile.
I sighed a little and forced another smile, "Well, I'll tell Chef to make this order extra special, right?"
She smiled brightly, and I looked over at Jason. His smile closed before I turn around to go give the orders before returning.
"Excuse me," I smile politely before picking up the shake and latte. Jennifer wasn't here, so I had to fill her shift; I had to act as two waitresses, meaning double efficiency, double speed, double manners.
After taking table 8's orders and heading to give them to the kitchen, I returned to my post at the bar. Working was keeping my mind off the fact the he was actually on another date, and I was still kind of surprised that it wasn't with me.
Hayden came out with more platters and went to serve them to his tables as the bell went off again. When I looked up to greet, I became extremely confused as to why the hell this was happening.
I was finishing Jason's and Emily's drinks and placing them in front of them, looking with furrowed brows at Kenton entering with a smile.
"And what are you doing here?" I ask in a small, confused chuckle as he walks up to the bar, not even realizing Jason was sitting right there. We greeted each other like how we had started after I told him I was partially French: the air kiss on the cheek like how they greeted each other in Paris.
"Just got from a business meeting and I've been meaning to drop by, so..." He smiled brightly, "here I am."
Jason slightly cleared his throat, making me look down at him.
