Sitting in the lounge room of my former home, the home I grew up in as a kid, I stared at all of the pictures that were scattered all around the place. After lunch yesterday, Duff and I returned back to our room at the Walkabout Lodge. Mum and Dad had been kind enough to lend us one of the many cars that Dad had laying around the yard. It was the old 1971 Holden Kingswood, it was pasty white in colour and had a little bit of rust around the edges, but it still sounded pretty damn sexy. The deal though? Duff and I were to only spend last night at the Walkabout and then come stay at the house, as in Dad's eyes, we should save money and not waste it on such a 'shit joint'. So we agreed, which not only had Dad excited to have his future son-in-law close by, but Duff too. He seemed to love my Dad and well, he also wanted to spend some time getting to know my brothers, not that they lived at home.

I bet you are wondering how lunch went with Andy and I sitting in the same room? It wasn't great, I couldn't lie about that. But I tried hard to ignore his presence and to make sure I focused my attention on Duff and my family. Not only that, but I also tried to make everything Duff-related, just to try and piss him off. It worked too, he stormed out of the house during lunch and skidded out of the driveway on his Harley. Was I pleased? Hell yeah.

"Not much is on the TV today." Mum sighs, flickering through the whole three channels that you could get.

"Not much? I see Bold and The Beautiful is taking over every channel these days." I couldn't help but laugh.

"It's not my cup of tea, but I don't mind watching it every now and again." Mum got up from the lounge and switched the TV off.

"I never liked it when it first came out and I still don't like it." I shrugged my shoulders, continuing to sit there, feeling bored out of my brains.

"How about we check on your father and Duff?" Murmured Mum as she headed out of the lounge room, leaving me to sit there on my own for a little while longer.

From what we were told this morning, we were going to head out to the shed today. Which I didn't mind doing, it gave Duff a chance to interact with other good people and especially Australians. But I knew Andy would be there, so that's why I wasn't as eager as I would normally be. Hopefully he will leave me alone while we were there.

Getting off of the lounge and taking a big stretch, I made my way outside just in time to see Dad and Duff pushing the Harley's out from undercover. Duff was pushing out Dad's black 1970 Softail and Dad was pushing out my bike, which was a 1984 cherry red Softail.

"I know I have said this before, John. But fuck these are sweet bikes." Duff whistled. If a man was turned on by a bike, I was pretty sure that man would be Duff in this present moment.

"The newer models are definitely nicer in general. Bigger engines and run so much more smoothly." Dad simply replied. "I'd love to upgrade mine, maybe buy a new bike or even buy a new engine and chuck it in this baby. But unfortunately my money tree is dead." Dad laughed this time. "So for the time being, I'll stick to my old bomb."

Old bomb? Dad's bike probably ran better than my own and Mum's bike put together. He constantly worked on it and had it completely customised to what he wants it as. He treasured his baby, maybe more than his own daughter.

"Old bomb? Don't be fucking ridiculous. She's sexy and I bet she is a goer." Duff bit his lip as he put the stand down on Dad's bike. "And if you want, I'll lend you the money? I have more than enough to support me for the next few decades if I spend wisely." Duff sweetly offered.

"I'm not taking your money, mate. But I appreciate your offer." Dad patted Duff's shoulder and smiled.

"If you ever change your mind, just let me know." Duff peered over into my direction and smiled. I don't think he seen me until now and Dad definitely hadn't noticed me standing there.
