"i'm so tired."
"why does everything go so bad?"
"why?"
"why did he have to take that girl instead?"
"why was my aunt acting like that?"
"why was everyone so eager to destroy me?"
"yoona,"
"won't you tell me why too?"
"why i have a father like this? why i'm forced to be related to such scum."
"why i put my best friend in such danger?"
"why i almost lost you earlier?"
"why they're all waiting for you out there, snarling like dogs?"
"we're just kids."
"please tell me taehyung."
"is this our fault?"
there was a quiet pause, in which the calming slushes of the ocean waves filled in.
"no yoona."
"it's not us who's wrong."
"it's the world."
at his words yoona began tearing up again, before breaking out in a series of intense wails and heavy sobs. she was tired of it all.
taehyung had then slid her through his arms and proceeded to make her lay on his lap. as the lukewarm water enveloped yoona's body, he untied her ponytail and started playing with her long dark hair, admiring how it stuck to her face. due to her head being on his lap, she was made to look up at the moon, and silently gasped at sheer beauty of it amongst other celestial bodies along the night sky.
it was at this moment, that taehyung sang for her.
"어느 날, 달에게."
"길고긴 편지를 썼어."
"너보다 환하진,"
"않지만, 작은 촛불을 켰어."
"어스름한 공원에 노래하는 이름모를 새,"
"where are you?"
"oh you."
smoothing down her bangs, he continued singing. his thumb wiped away her tears and softly traced her features, starting from her eyebrows, to her nose and finally her cheeks. his touch left behind a trail of warmth on yoona's face.
"왜 울고 있는지? 여긴 나와 너 뿐인데."
"me and you,"
"oh you."
his voice seemed to due the trick, and yoona felt her body fall victim to a drowsy spell like no other. with a few tears slipping out, her eyelids grew heavy until they finally fluttered shut.
"taehyung,"
"we got to see the stars together."
