i was walking through the docks of the village, it being near the sea, and grew sleepy at how the sun blanketed my skin.
no one could ever really find me here, so it had always been a place i could relax at.
sitting down, i gazed at the bright dot setting from the sky, as it met with the ocean and thought.
no one ever tells me why.
but i want to know why.
i have to know why.
i need to know why.
why i live like this.
because watching the other village girls earlier made me realize,
that like them i wanted to have friends, joke around, and play games in town central, only worrying about getting scolded if i got home late.
but those things were out of reach.
so far out of reach.
reaching out to the sun, i winced at the rays, noticing just how thin my arm was.
my cheeks grew wet.
i wish the sun would swallow me up,
and then i'd sail away from this place.
sail away from all the scrapes and glares given to me instead of toys and laughter.
maybe i'll find playing with the night stars more fun than watching others play with eachother.
