*Your POV*
"What's taking Jason so long?" I asked Mark, not trying to hide the worry in my voice.
"Don't stress yourself out so much, he'll probably be back soon." He answered.
Another ten minutes whizzed by, and still, there was no sign of Jason.
"I'm going out there." I muttered.
"No Y/N, don't-" Mark tried to stop me but I was already halfway out of the vehicle.
I ran away from the van.
This whole situation is crazy.
I never thought I would care about anything that happened to Jason.
Yet here I am, ready to risk my own life just to save him.
Go figure.
*Jason's POV*
I tossed my makeshift ball against the wall, catching it every time it bounced at me.
I've been in this cell for a solid four hours, and I got so bored that I made a small paper ball out of ten gum wrappers that were in my pocket.
"Enjoying your stay McCann?" A voice asked.
I turned and faced the sound.
None other but Jessie stood outside my cell, her back towards me.
"Not particularly." I answered.
"I can honestly say that a real jail cell could've done a better job at keeping me entertained."
She was now facing me, looking at the ground.
Her expression was caught between a smirk and gritted teeth.
"Of course. Throwing insults, just like the old Jason would." She murmured.
I stared at her intently.
"What do you want Jessie?" I asked.
"Why did you waste all that time tracking me and trying to find me?"
"It was not a waste." She insisted.
"You don't understand how much you hurt me when you didn't love me back. I handed you my heart, and you refused it."
"But why come after me now?" I continued to press her.
"Because -!" She yelled, slamming her fists on the bars.
"...I loved you, Jason."
She left it at that, and walked away.
-
My back slammed roughly against the wall, and Jessie stared directly into my eyes, gripping my shirt tightly. Now I know how Y/N feels when I corner her against a wall.
"For the last time," I wheezed.
"I don't love you Jessie. I never have and I never will."
For the hundredth time, she leaned in towards my face and tried to kiss me.
She had previously walked into my cell and apologized for her explosive behavior before.
I told her that it was okay, though it clearly wasn't.
We had then sat in silence for a while, until she climbed on top of me and started touching my chest.
I pushed her off me, telling her that I didn't want to be with her, but she wouldn't listen.
She kept forcing herself on me, telling me over and over again that she loved me.
I tried to get her away from me, but she only tried harder to come near me.
So after a while I gave up, and let her touch me.
This is exactly what I had put Y/N through.
Something so wrong...I regret the fact I had done this to her.
"I just want to be alone right now Jessie, can't you respect that?" I questioned impatiently.
"Give me one kiss and I'll go." She whispered, still trying to dominate me.
"No." I refused, because one kiss would lead to another, and another, until I couldn't stop myself.
"Why won't you just accept me?" She cried out.
"I've loved you ever since we met, why do you have to do this?"
"Listen to me." I mumbled, holding her firmly by the shoulders.
"I don't love you. We were friends, and that was three years ago. We can never be anything more than friends."
I released her, and she stepped back.
Her eyes glistened with tears, but I knew she wouldn't cry in front of me.
"...I understand..." She whispered, turning away from me.
Guilt and remorse weighed heavily on my chest.
Don't do what you're thinking right now Jason.
My body moved faster than my thoughts, and I grabbed Jessie.
Quickly, I kissed her on the lips.
And never before in my life did something so wrong feel so right.
*Your POV*
Jason was not around the corner of the building.
Panic started to rise in my chest, and I frantically called out for him.
"Jason!" I shouted.
"Where are you?"
Pretty soon it became apparent that he simply wasn't there.
I started to rush back to the van, and stumbled on something.
I glanced down, and saw Jason's silver gun lying on the ground.
I picked it up, and right then and there I knew.
Jason didn't just play the disappearing trick on us.
He would never walk away on me.
Someone kidnapped him.
-
"Y/N, you need to relax." Mark tried to calm me down as we continued our search for Jason."There's no time for relaxation now." I replied firmly.
"Jason is out there somewhere, and I won't rest until we find him."
We drove for another hour, and still, Jason was nowhere to be found.
"Maybe we should take a break." Mark said.
I grabbed onto his shirt and stared fiercely into his eyes.
"Find. Him." I growled impatiently.
He floored it and the van took off again.
Soon we pulled up to a foreign building, and a white van was located in the parking lot.
"I recognize this place." Mark murmured.
"Good, because I'm going in." I declared.
"I'll come to-" He responded partially before I stopped him.
"No, I can do this alone." I insisted.
"You're going to need my help." He said.
"I'll be fine." I declined his assistance.
I ran into the building without any further discussion.
I'm going to find Jason.
Even if I have to search for the entire night.
That's the end of Part 28 :)
