The doors of the elevator close as the screaming boy is taken upstairs to the 5th floor, the floor that contains The Room. Some people have tried to see what’s inside, but they end up going “missing”. I press the button on the elevator to come back down to this floor, because I didn’t plan on getting on an elevator with two Overseers with guns. I look around the vast room, and almost every single person had already gone back to chatting amongst their clique. The elevator beeps and I step out of the way again. The doors slide open and thankfully, the elevator is vacant. I step inside and press the “2” button, feeling pleasured that I get to move up a level. I see someone running around the Main Living Space, in a frenzy to find someone or something. He’s a long blonde haired man with big, square glasses pushed up to the bridge of his nose. His hair sways from side to side as he scurries around the room. He looks about my age, give or take a few years. He spots the elevator and yells over for me to hold it for him. I hold my arm in the way of the door so it doesn’t close as he shuffles inside the elevator. “Thanks” He says, carrying a tube, similar to the one I got earlier today. “What floor?” I ask him. “Second” He replies back. “Okay” I say. I press the button as it lights up and the doors of the elevator close. “What’s in the tube?” I politely inquire. “It’s a letter from the Guild. I just got moved from The Bottom to The Amateurs” He says, a slight smile forming on his face. “Oh, congrats man” I say, patting him on the back. “Thanks” He says, sheepishly. The elevator doors open and I see people bustling around the halls. Some I recognize from my very few visits to the Main Living Space, but most are unfamiliar faces. I take the letter from The Guild out of my pocket and check the room number again. 242. I see a sign posted next to one of the doors to my right. 211. I keep walking forward until I reach an intersection. A sign in front of me reads “Rooms 201-219” with an arrow pointing to the left. I turn right and keep walking until I reach Room 242. I slowly turn the doorknob and walk inside. This is different than the rooms on The Bottom, here they have two beds. “Hey! You must be the transfer from The Bottom!” A voice booms throughout the room. A figure walks into my vision, obscuring my view of the room. “I’m sorry, who are you?” I ask, raising an eyebrow. They respond with a simple, “I’m your new roommate, Hugh. Nice to meet you.”
