I set down the tablet and the screen shuts off automatically. I walk over to the side wall of my room, to the right when you walk in, and check my new wardrobe. The hinges of the wooden door squeak silently as I open it. As expected, everything is still white. “Yay” I mutter to myself before closing the wooden door. I walk over to my desk and check the drawers. I slide open the top drawer, and the contents reveal only a small laminated piece of paper. I pick it up from the drawer and examine it, turning it over in my hands. On the front is a label with some sort of code at the bottom. It reads “Roger” and below that it says “Amateur Level”. Near the bottom the code reads 52737. That number sounds familiar from somewhere, but I can’t quite place where. I shrug it off and check the backside. It’s blank, but has some sort of sticky material to it so I can attach it to my clothing. I put it up to my chest, right above my heart and slowly press it against the fabric. It sticks, and I exit my room, closing the door behind me. I look at my watch, and the digital lights tell me it’s 7:45, almost time for my Dream Study class. I head back into my room and pick up the tablet to check where the class is. The screen lights up invitingly as I hold it in my palms. I click on the “More Info” button next to the Dream Study class and it specifies that the class is taken in room 205. I say thanks to the tablet in my head before starting toward the front door of my new house. I didn’t see Hugh anywhere, but he might’ve left for a class he has earlier than me. I exit the room and enter the hallway. I walk down the hall and head straight until I see room 205 on my left. I pace back and forth in the hallway for what seemed like mere minutes before someone walked up to me. “Are you here for the Dream Study class?” a woman said, looking to be in her 30’s or 40’s. “Yes” I say. “Then come on in” She says, taking the jingling keys out of her pocket and unlocking the door. She pushes it open and it reveals a room filled with about thirty seats, each with its own laptop on the top of the desk. “What are the laptops for?” I ask her. “It holds the program we use for the Dream Study,” She replies, smiling. “I’m Katie, by the way. I’m the instructor for this class.” She says, gesturing to the empty seats. “Well, Roger, since you are the first here you may take a seat wherever you like. Make sure it’s a good one, you’ll be in it for 4 hours daily.” She said, jokingly. “Thanks” I reply before choosing a seat in the back of the room in the middle column. “What exactly do we do in this class?” I question while walking to my seat. “I’ll explain that once everyone arrives, okay?” She answers back. I arrive at my chair and slump down into it. It has armrests, which is a definite improvement over The Bottom. I rest my elbows on the sides and wait for other students to start filing in.
