Throughout the meal, the six girls talk amongst each other, whispering some parts so the Overseers don’t get suspicious. They talked about new things they had found in the facility, Tiffany pointed out that she saw an Overseer leaving The Room with red stains on his clothing. Maddie2 asked if Tiffany followed the Overseer back to wherever he was going and Tiffany shook her head. “It would’ve been weird if I followed him. Besides, we all know he just went to The Guild to get fresh clothes.” She said, grumbling. The group just slowly nodded, and I leaned over and whispered to Callista2, “Do you think we should tell them about the vents?” She just looked at me with a nervous face, biting her lip. “What is it?” Dani asked politely. “Um...I...uh...” I stammered, waiting for confirmation from Callista2 to talk. After looking at everyone at the table, she nodded to me. I explained to the group about the the vents in the ceiling, and the number on the television. They all just sat in silence for a second, processing the information, then Maddie2 speaks up again. “We may need to consider another possibility...” Her voice trails off as she looks down, her face obscured by her dark curly hair. “And what possibility is that?” Dani asks, looking at her. Maddie2 looks up, and then continues, “We may need to consider the possibility of more than one of these facilities.” She finishes, and at first everyone was skeptical, but their expressions quickly changed into realization. “How would the feed from the other facility reach here? They would have to be almost stacked on top of each other.” Tiffany pointed out. “You’re right. Maybe we should look into the elevator shaft and see how far up it actually goes.” Leixia4 suggests. I nod with the rest of them, and then ask, “What time? Because even though there are Overseers everywhere, I know that there are some times that they have all thinned out.” “How about around four o’clock?” The quiet girl suggests, this is the first time I hear her speak, and see her face behind the curtain of blonde hair that was there a second ago. Her eyes were small, and so was her nose. She looked like a cute little mouse peeking out of it’s home. “That works. I’ll meet you all in front of the elevator on the amateur level today at four.” Tiffany says, flipping her short black hair to the side. Everyone at the table agrees, and then the five girls get up at once, “It was nice meeting you” Dani says, smiling. My heart jumps a little, and the other four agree before exiting the Cafeteria. “Well, those are my friends” Callista2 says smiling and scratching the back of her neck. “They seem nice” I reply back, standing up and stretching my legs from the cramped seating. “They really want out of here” She whispers to herself, but loud enough for me to hear. “Yes, they do. With good reason” I say, looking around at the room of students, most of whom are leaving the Cafeteria. I look down at my watch. 2:10. “The Cafeteria is closing in five minutes, want to leave now and go hang with Chris3?” I ask her. She looks up at me and nods, looking more depressed than happy, which is unlike her. “Okay” I say, standing up, then helping her climb out of the bench as well. We both start walking toward the elevators, and I click the “Up” button once we arrive. When we step inside the elevator, I ask a question. “What if they’re right? What if there really is more to this place than just five floors?” I glance over at her as she answers, her gaze not wavering from the metallic white doors of the interior of the elevator. “I don’t know” She replies, swallowing hard.
