“Roommate?” I ask quizzically. “Yeah. Here on the Amateur Level we have roommates. I’m guessing the Guild hasn’t integrated that to The Bottom yet?” Hugh says, stepping forward to show his face. He has black hair that flows down to his shoulders, and curls at the end. His eyes are slim, giving him an intelligent kind of look. He looks to be much older than me, probably around 27 or 28. “Yeah...” I drift off into thought. Roommate? I had a hard enough time socializing in my classes and in the Main Living Space, but now I have to live with some guy for the rest of my life? “Something wrong?” He asks, tilting his head and smiling down at me. “One second” I say before turning around and leaving the room. My heart is racing in my chest and I feel like my brain is about to explode. I bury my face in my hands and sit against the hallway wall. I just take a second to breathe and mull over the situation. I can’t have a partner, I’ll go insane, and what makes it worse is that he’s older and will act like my father. “Hey, you alright?” Someone whispers in my right ear. I spring up and my heart starts pounding again as I scan who just scared me half to death. It’s the guy I met in the elevator, did he follow me here? “Yeah, I’m fine.” I reply, dusting myself off. “It looks like I’m in the room across the hall” He smiles, while looking down at his acceptance letter. “I’m sorry, I didn’t catch your name.” I say. “Chris3” He replies. “I’m Roger. Nice to meet you Chris3” I say before offering him my hand. He shakes it and says a simple “Same to you”. He walks into his room across from mine and I walk back into mine. Hugh is sitting on the couch watching television when I walk in. “Sorry about before I’m just a bit shy” I apologize, while walking toward what appears to be my new room. “No problem Roger. Your personal items should be here in a few, so just sit back and you can watch tv if you want.” He says before standing up and walking past me and into his own room. I open the door to my new lifestyle and immediately notice a tablet on my new desk. “So with a new place comes new equipment huh?” I whisper to myself. I pick up the tablet, searching it’s sides for the power button. There didn’t seem to be any prominent button on the sides of the device whatsoever. Besides the front and back facing cameras and the home button, there wasn’t anything but screen. As I’m turning it around the screen lights up with a message on the screen. The new schedule is posted for me to look at since I’m no longer at The Bottom. In about a half hour I have a new class called Dream Study. I check how long it lasts and almost fall over. The class starts at 8:00 AM and ends at noon. Four hours? All I have to say is this better be a fun class.
