Chapter 8

The next morning, I wake to see the others already awake. I check my phone to see that it's 9.

"Does Jen's mom know that we're here???" I ask.

"No, on sundays she usually sleeps in a little while longer than this, so we better hurry out." & with that, we leave. We've decided to go to the mall.

"My head is pounding," Alisha complains when we get inside the mall.

"How much did you drink last night???"

"Only 3 cans.."

"Gee. Only 3???" I say sarcastically.

"I know right." We go to the food court to get ourselves some breakfast. We all just settle on large pretzals.

"Early bird specials are going on," Jen tells us.

"Yay!" We all cheer, & after we eat, we go to all our favorite shopping spots. At 12, we decide to go back to our homes to get some well deserved sleep.

I stretch my arms as I get out of bed. That 2 hour nap was just the thing I needed. Nobody's home, so I just chill on the couch in the living room. There isn't crap on tv, & I'm soo bored. I pull out my phone to see if I had any missed messages, & sure enough, there was 1, from Jack.

'U doing anything???' I quickly reply no.

'Cool i'm coming over' Jack texted. I smile to myself.

"Hey," he says as he walks in. "Anybody home???"

"Nooope."

"Cool.." We both sit on the couch. He looks like he's about to say something, but he isn't making a sound.

"What???" I ask.

"Are you & Jeff..together now???" That caught me off guard.

"We exchanged numbers, but I don't know. Probably just a 1 night thing."

"1 night stand you mean???"

"We didn't have sex."

"You didn't Y'all were upstairs for a while."

"We just made out. & I saw you & some girl make out in the front yard so you shouldn't talk!"

"Ohh..so you made out with him for revenge??? Because you were jealous???" My mouth drops a little. Not because he accused me of such a thing, but because now that I think about it, it's true. Shit.

"I did it because I wanted to. You weren't on my mind at all when I was kissing him." I did feel a small connection to Jeff though, so it's not like i'm lying. I really didn't think of Jack when we kissed.

"C'mon, admit it. You want me."

"More like the other way around," I say, sulking.

"Guess I can't argue with that..." He moves his face closer to mine. I feel my heart beating inside my chest, no, exploding inside my chest. He pulls back.

"See??? You want me. It was all over your face when you thought I was going to kiss you." I feel the hurt & anger rise inside me. I grab his face in my hands & kiss him hard, & he kisses back. Somehow he ends up on top of me on the couch. I feel his hand under my shirt. We stay kissing for a few minutes, til I hear a car door slam. He jumps off as I grab the tv remote to turn the tv on. I try to control my panting as Mom comes in.

"Oh, hello Jack."

"Hi Mrs. Walker." She walks into the kitchen as Jack & I exchange a look.

If Mom didn't come, what would have happened???
