A month goes by when I find myself sitting in the park, leaning against the tree. I see a fawn eating some grass a little far off from where I sit. Smiling, I pull out my phone & take a pic, then send it to Luke. He would love it as much as I do.
"Too late," he says as he sits next to me.
"Hey," I say, grinning at him. Luke & I have become even closer over the past few weeks. By now, we don't need to tell the other where we are, it's always here, where we saw a deer some months ago. It's become our special place.
Jack hasn't tried pulling anything, in fact, he's avoided me ever since that day at the mall! I guess all I had to do was publically humiliate him. But it still makes me sad to think that we used to be friends.
Catherine & Danny are still together, as well as Jeff & Jen. Going strong as ever. Alisha & Rob broke up though. I don't know who's Jack been with these days. My mom & I are still happy in our apartment, while Dad & Megan are still rotting in jail.
All my friends from my grandparents town come & visit, & vis versa. & guess what? Macy & Mike have gotten together! Turns out, their a cute couple.
Luke is going away for college in a few weeks. It's really strange but i'm really going to miss him, strange because he's only my best friend's brother. How come i'm missing him so much already? Ok, so maybe to me, he's a lot more than my best friend's brother. Always has been. But he wouldn't feel the same way for me.
"Hello, earth to Emma," Luke says as he waves in front of my face.
"What Luke?"
"You've been zoned out for the past couple of minutes! I have something I want to tell you."
"Me too."
"Well what to you want to tell me?" He asks, his blue eyes looking curious into mine. I take a deep.
I bend in & kiss him, & he instantly kisses back. I feel magic running through our lips. When we finally pull apart, he looks at me with a smile.
"I was going to tell you the same thing."
& when I look into his eyes, there is no question about if he loves me or if he loves me not.
He loves me.
