Man From The Lake At The Side.

Chapter 3

Quinn decided to skip a day of school; she slept out on the beach just watching the waves. Just thinking, I screwed up; I let a small piece of my fear control me, and in return it made me see something that wasn't there.

I crawled back up as the tides began to hit a high point and by then I had used a towel to keep me warm, I had a few protein bars in my bag, bon appetite.

I changed into my exercise clothes feeling a little energized; I was literally spurting with bloodlust when Chris had attacked me.

Wiping the sand from my backside I gather my junk before making my way to the walkway, I'm not going home, the school would have notified my mom about the incident and I wasn't ready to face her sad gaze, my mom is never one for abuse and she has never touched me. So I'm not afraid of her hitting me, I'm afraid of the look of disappointment she'll give me, the one that tells me I have reached rock bottom and that the trench is now caving in.

I walked up the steps just as a dog came sprinting down, its owner racing to keep up with the pet, his jade eyes had given me a wide I eyed look before he went about minding his own business.

I could only imagine his disgust when he stared at me, I'm not a looker or stunner that's why I hardly understood why I had gained popularity, and the idea of my aesthetics was solidified when I found out my friends were never really my friends, they were pretending, and each and everyone one of those friends would call me pretty, so they must've been lying.

I was born with boring features, most New Zealanders are tanned and have very muscular figures, but I wasn't as blessed. I look down at my body, okay maybe the body part wasn't true, playing sports from the past years have given me such a womanly figure, the curves and what not. But I can assure you my other features are very much dull.

I use to have brown hair, but now it's golden brown, and it's a painful reminder since Maxwell was the cause.

He peed his bed once and so he put the bleach in my hair-cleaning bucket, yes I had a bucket to clean my hair! Maxwell could never be trusted with measurement he basically poured the entire two-litre bottle into the bucket ending in me scrapping bleach through my hair. It did damage my hair and at the time I was a little frightened of the outcome, so imagine my happiness when I saw that only the colour was affected. On good days my hair is naturally straight it falls in waves past my shoulders ending over my breast which is now its max length thanks to the bleach project, on bad days I have hair like those purple minions from Despicable me 2, and let me tell you this: I have a lot of bad days.

Plain Jane looks super sexy compared to my face, whereas girls have those piercing rounded eyes with a thick line of eyelashes to contrast said eyes, I have green eyes dull and lifeless, the eyelashes that brim past eyelid end just before the dip beneath my brow, girls today use some sort of L'Oreal product that makes them ten times more amazinger!

I was born with sleek cheekbones and an oval face that has bad acne due to the over production on sweat that I gather. My lips are a lot thicker than the pouting average, like a whole lot bigger; you can mistake me for Jay-Z any day!

I think that was also why I had been so in love with Chris I was happy that a hot guy like him could like a girl like me, but it was all false hope, wasn't it?

As I make my way down to the park I could make out the Cemetery down at the bay, the one where my brother is buried, even from this distance I could see the little flower pin wheel he had made for me on my birthday, we use to give it to each other because he was such a boy, even though he had given it to me he still had the joy of taking it back and then returning it to me over and over again.
