Chapter 6
I groan getting off the comfortable bed, you know that line: you don’t know what you have till it’s taken away.
Well that is exactly how I am feeling right now, usually that line is used to express that you lost the best thing in your life, however, I found myself disappointed with what I had before, and all you have to do to know how I feel, is to touch the silky duvet covers on that king bed and you’ll know what living feels like…
Like sleeping on a piece of earth that is reserved for god, now Quinn finds herself addicted, actually knowing how it feels beneath your tireless body is the best feeling in the world. And what surprised Quinn more was the fact she slept till seven o’clock…which is amazing considering she usually lays awake from twelve till five, just staring at anything till it comes to the time she does a little exercise. But no, Quinn’s body refused to let her leave the bed till a later time and now Quinn’s body is finished resisting her common sense to get ready to school.
Clambering down the hall in the sweats for a man, Quinn sees a light lit from that office she was caught in, she vowed never to step in there again, she’s already pissed off the Silent man for going in there just once.
Climbing down the steps she planned to let the guy approach her himself before she asked for her bag, which holds her school uniform. Making her way to the kitchen a breakfast is in order, but once she got down to the kitchen she was shocked.
A bowl with all assortments of cereals, oats and fruit lying around it; Quinn is an enamoured by her choices and her stomach rumbled in approval. She slowly walked towards the bench as someone came into the room behind her, slowly turning she saw her saviour standing in a pair of wash jeans and a short sleeve white top, which defined his lean torso to his nice staunch shoulders. Quinn flicked her head in embarrassment she shouldn’t be checking out her captor, it’s presumptuous don’t you think? And besides Quinn knows she isn’t attractive after a long nights sleep. Her hair is tangled like a birds nest, her face would be red and blotchy her eyes would be competing with a squinted emoticon.
Deciding to be polite she smiled his way, “Morning,” he nodded before coming closer he stopped about a metre away with something in his hand. Reaching out cautiously just in case he decides to attack her, Quinn snatched it before he had time to react, when she looked up his face told Quinn he is on the verge of laughing.
When she looked down she was surprised by what he had given her, “What is it?” she stared down at the small pills wondering if they would kill her in an instant.
Quinn is trying to figure out if that’s a good thing or a bad thing due to the fact her life is a screw up, she dreams of her brother every night just to be with him and asks for an exchange, begging for god to switch fates, her life for his. So is Quinn going to benefit from anything if this guy is giving her pills that kill her, well it’s not going to give her Maxwell’s life but is it going to let her die and really be there for Maxwell…
Maybe, deciding not to listen to the answer she took the pills with a swallow of saliva, thankfully they went down without a struggle and now Quinn Mien is awaiting her fate…
Any minute now. It’s going to happen, that white light is going to come and get me, you’ll see.
But sadly nothing occurred and when she looked back to her captor a small look towards his way was more than he deserved.
“I thought these would kill me!” she ranted in frustration, “Why am I still alive?” he looked somewhat confused as he stepped back afraid Quinn’s tantrum would affect him as well.
Then he handed her the packet, she read the affects and what she saw made her heart race in amazement and irritation. “You brought me pills that help me not to puke at the end of a meal?” he nodded than motioned her towards the bench.
