Chapter 32

"Dad," memories of him...everything about him came rushing back to me, his eyes...my matching others...our green eyes.

Though I had forgotten what he had looked like I can't forget those eyes...those are the eyes of a man I had never wanted to forget and yet, I forgot because he was never there.

"Quinn..." he said after a while.

I looked at Natalie her eyes drawn to mine awaiting a reaction, I simply flip her off, I don't need that man, he left my mother and me so I don't need him even if he needs to explain what he is doing here.

I look back at Alias who was bringing in a plate full of treats, my mouth instantly watered.

"Your food my lady," I grinned taking the offering before turning on my heel ignoring my father's ominous gaze.

Natalie just watched in shock as I sit calmly on the bed and eat as if the man who had just appeared through the door was just a normal person, when he is anything but.

"Quinn...are you okay?" Natalie gulped stepping beside me while also warding off the brooding man whose gaze was locked firmly on me and my round belly.

"Yeah, why would I need to by upset?" I said munching on a cracker, what did she expect? Another panic attack? No way, I only did that because all those situations involved someone I care about, my father is not on that list.

"Quinn he's your dad and you're just acting like he's so random stranger," I stood on my heels glaring at her, irritating and incomprehensive to why I was ignoring him.

"Well he is isn't he? I don't even know his name I just remember his eyes...but I assure you that the only reason I remember them is because of mine...man I wish I had blue eyes like Maxwell," I grumbled before moving to the side draw where my glass of juice is.

He stepped in front of me, "My name is Maxwell,"

I pause to glare at him before moving around him, "Mine's Quinn," I confirm in fake enthusiasm.

I pointed around the room, "That's Chair, watch out, he tends to eat your crack. And that's Bed, he's very comfortable," I hope this sarcasm is brought out of annoyance because I don't want him to know that seeing his face has caused anything more.

"Very well, I will bring you your juice while you reacquaint yourself with Bed, and I will introduce my crack to Chair," he twisted my words expertly before turning me back, I tensed when he touched my body but I furthered myself away even when he sat down I continued to scoot deeper under the sheets.

Natalie and Alias stared at me as I drank at my juice without paying attention to Maxwell, "I'm going to call you Max," because quite frankly, he taints my baby brother's memory.

"Dad would suffice," he grumbled.

"How about biological father?" I asked with a devils grin. He will never be my dad and I will never be his daughter because that title belongs to a man who was in my life...he was not. "Or sperm daddy, maybe even temporary baby daddy?"

Max rolled his eyes, "I see you got your stubbornness from me," even though he couldn't stop it he sounded so loving and I turned away from it.

"Besides my eyes, that's about it because I don't think I'll abandon my kids a trait you seem to have luckily I didn't inherit..." I heard Natalie gasp before taking measured steps to stand between us.

"Sorry Sir it must be the twins wrecking all sorts of hormones in her bod-" I cut her off; Max doesn't deserve to hear an explanation for my actions.
