Aphron bolted through camp and tried not to tumble into any wolves to make them angry. He suddenly skidded to a halt as he saw a beautiful silver she-wolf eating a strange creature with eight legs and wings with a furry face. Her eyes glowed light blue and Aphron felt a shiver surpass up their spine.
"Who's that," Aphron whispered to himself as his tail tip lashed.
"That's Zoryum," replied Yish as he kinked his tail over his back.
"She's beautiful," Aphron gasped as his tail wagged madly.
Yish chuckled and shuffled his paws against the ground. "She's my daughter."
Aphron gulped, wondering how he would react. To his surprise Yish just padded away and grabbed some prey to share with a light gray she-wolf. Aphron thought that she was Yish's mate.
Aphron saw his chance. He padded forward and stopped beside Zoryum. "H-Hi," he stammered as his tail wagged.
Zoryum raised her head and blinked her beautiful eyes. "Hi. I'm Zoryum! What's you name?" She tilted her head and licked her lips to smear the blood away.
"I'm Aphron," Aphron replied with a polite dip of his head. He had never been this polite before but a she-wolf had never been involved.
"Aphron," echoed Zoryum as she repeated the name a new times in her mouth. "Aren't you Qutuk's long lost son?"
Fury washed over Aphron, realizing that he was just a lost story here. "Yes I suppose I am," he rasped as he felt claws rake his heart.
"What are you doing?!"
Aphron spun around and saw a large broad shouldered brown wolf staring down at him. Aphron frowned and looked up. "H-Hi," he stuttered in shock and his whole body.
"What are you doing to my sister," snapped the brown dog as he bared his teeth.
"Mashli! Leave him be," begged Zoryum as her eyes narrowed.
With a snarl Mashli surged forward and sunk his teeth into Aphron's shoulder. Aphron gasped before he turned and sunk his teeth into Mashli's throat. Marshli threw him aside and Aphron began to let his illusions flow from his paws. He made numerous copies of himself so that Mashli couldn't tell where he was.
"Show yourself you wolf-heart," snapped Marshli as he looked at all of the copies of Aphron as he tried to decide which one to attack.
"You have to find me," taunted Aphron as he made more copies of himself. He then turned his true self into a copy of Mashli. The two Marshlis looked each other in the eye and the real Marshli snarled.
"Enough," howled Qutuk as he emerged from the entrance of his den.
"Get out of here before I show you my claws!" Qutuk's words were harsh and serious. "You're lucky that I didn't kill you now!"
"I don't think you could do it," taunted Aphron with a firm nod of his muzzle. He took back all the copies and illusions. He looked up at his father with a challenge in his eyes.
"So be it," muttered Qutuk, his voice low and dangerous. "Kill them!"
