The Pack of Mystry

Aphron strode through the camp, sniffing the air. Wolf scents overwhelmed him. Wolves of every size and color. They all spoke to each other and shared meals together. Aphron had dreamed of that closeness but with Morali and him being the only wolves they didn't have that luxury with humans.

Shlif then led them to a large den with lichen clinging to the base. She turned to Yish. "You might want to introduce them to Qutuk. I doubt he wants to see me."

Yish nodded and kinked his wings over his back. "Follow me," he barked as he skidded into the den. Aphron and Morali followed with Thor and Loki trailing. They were feeling very uncomfortable at being around so many wolves that could kill them.

Yish led them down a long stretch before they made it to the main den. A large wolf was laying on a bed of moss in front of a gleaming fire. Yish cleared his throat. "Qutuk could I speak with you for a heartbeat."

Qutuk spun around and narrowed his eyes before he caught sight of the two wolves and the two Asgardians. "What are they doing here," he asked pointing his claws toward Thor and Loki.

"They just want to speak with you," Yish replied before he drew closer. He leaned forward to whisper in Qutuk's ear. "They are Aphron and Morali."

Qutuk's eyes widened and he tilted his head. He pushed himself to his paws and strode toward the two wolves. "Aphron, Morali, is that really you?" He began to pace around the two wolves who weren't pups anymore.

"Y-Yes," stammered Morali as he tucked his tail between his legs in fear.

Qutuk raised his head to look into Morali's eyes. "Do you know us, do you know our father," broke in Aphron with a lash of his own tail.

Qutuk spun around and blinked his eyes in despair. "I do know you and I do know your father." His voice broke. "I know you because I am your father."
