Aphron emerged from the palace and darkness was beginning to show in the sky. He felt pain through his whole body and he didn't know how to make it fade.
He heard the sounds of laugher from a nearby party and he just felt anger that they were enjoying themselves and he wasn't. He snarled to himself and spread out his wings.
He flapped his wings and took to the darkening sky. He felt the wind rush through his feathers and that made him feel a bit better but not entirely. He took higher up higher and higher. He then spread his wings and took off into a glide that didn't require much effort to stay in the air.
He pricked his ears and he heard howling, the howling of a newly mended pack. He wished to join them but he had no joy in his life, at least not now.
He lowered down a bit and saw the water. He flew just above the water and dipped a paw in. The water felt cool and refreshing on his aching pads. The floors in the palace may be beautiful but they took a tole on a wolf's pads.
He then lifted his head and realized he was close to the place Loki had found long ago. He sighed and flew toward it, picking up speed. He tucked his wings a bit against hi side and plunged through the small opening.
His paws nicked the ground a bit as he walked forward through the small openings. He then emerged into the strange opening. He took flight again, his wings nearly touching as he flapped them. He sniffed the air and it smelled sour.
He didn't complain though. However he grew tired and he landed. He collapsed and let his pain wash through him once more. Tears streamed down his face and he let out a howl of rage.
He threw a few rocks into the sky and he cried about his loss. His pain began to corse through him and he forced himself to lay down and not thrash around. He whimpered to himself and his paws flicked over his face. He took in some ragged breath before he fell asleep.
