"Kroyto," called Aphron as he looked around the pillars, trying to find his son.

Kroyto turned invisible and stalked forward, his claws pricking against the ground. He knew that Aphron couldn't see him but he could hear him. Aphron pricked his ears before he darted around and yipped.

Kroyto suddenly appeared and his eyes glowed. Aphron barked affectionately and leaped on Kroyto, pushing him to the ground. The small pup churned his paws against Aphron's chest but he wasn't giving up.

"You found me," Kroyto gasped in shock.

Aphron licked Kroyto between the ears. Kroyto smiled before Aphron leaped off of Kroyto and Kroyto strode around his father. "You're powers are growing but I can still hear you."

Kroyto growled to himself and rolled his eyes. "I thought I was invisible!"

"You were but true invisibility takes practice and you're not there yet," Aphron pointed out as he lowered his head and nuzzled the back of Kroyto's head reassuringly.

"What about you," asked Kroyto as he leaped onto Aphron's back and positioned himself between his father's shoulders. "Why can't I see your powers?"

Aphron began to buck a bit to give Kroyto a more enjoyable ride. "Well because I try to only use my powers when I need to," he explained. He had matured a lot since Kroyto had grown since he had to be a father figure. Some things that he used to do he just couldn't do anymore.

"Then why do I use mine," asked Kroyto as he reared on his hind legs before he brought it down on Aphron's spine.

Aphron sighed, trying to figure out how to explain it. He knew he was lucky that Kroyto was such a good pup and that he wanted to be just like his father. However this proved difficult. Pups needed to play and Kroyto had no other pups to play around. He was constantly acting older than he was because he was used to it when eating and when at meetings. He needed to let loose and be a pup but he could rarely do that. He was growing up way too fast.

"Because you have to practice," Aphron explained. 'And because you have to have some fun' he thought to himself.

"Well one day when I master it can we have a real battle," begged Kroyto as he leaped off of Aphron's shoulders and landed with a thud. He spun his head around and whimpered a bit.

"Of course we can. You can ask your uncle Morali to fight with us too," rumbled Aphron as he licked Kroyto's cheek affectionately.

Kroyto pushed him away and the fur along his spine bristled. "What happened to my mother," he suddenly asked.

Aphron shook his head to clear it. "What?" He was certainly not expecting that question.

Kryoto shrugged. "I've never heard a lot about my mother or what happened to her."

"Oh pup," sighed Aphron as he sat down and curled his tail around his paws. "I didn't want to have to tell you this until you were older but do you think that you can handle it?"

Kroyto shook his head vigorously and wagged his tail. "Of course. I'm an Asgardian warrior!"

'No you're not,' thought Aphron once more. 'You're a wolf pup living with Asgardians like I did.'

"Well then sit down. It's a long story."
