After a while we start to head home in silence and it's not a awkward silence it's a nice one but masons breaks it by putting his arm around my shoulders and pulling me closer to him. I smile up at him gratefully because as the sun went down it started to get colder and I'm starting to shiver, I'm shivering harder and my body starts the rack and mason stops and wraps his body around mine immediately warming me up, I snuggle Into him wanting his comfort but he releases me and we start walking home again but this time hand in hand.
When we get to my house masons mums car is pulled out the front and I stop walking mason hasn't noticed it yet and looks at me like I'm crazy them he turns his head and his face falls, he let's go of my hand and runs up to the car and looks inside. my thoughts go straight to my mum and masons mum talking/killing each others inside of my house and when mason looks up at me and shakes his head the dread fills me once more.
Mason and I walk casually into the house in search I our mothers then I hear laughter coming from the kitchen and nudge masons shoulder and gesture with my face towards the kitchen he nods and takes me hand and leads the way into kitchen. "heyo kidos" my mum says with a huge smile on her face, I'm so surprised by this sight I do a double take I haven't seen my mum smile like that in years she only ever smiles like that when she is truly happy, "hello mason, nice to meet you Indiana" masons mum smiles at me and reaches a hand toward me. I smile and shake her hand and say "it nice to meet you aswell mrs Wilson" mrs Wilson laughs and says "oh honey please call me Miranda when people call me mrs Wilson it makes me feel old" at this comment my mum bursts out laughing. I give my mum a questioning look confused about why she is being so familiar with mrs wil- I mean Miranda, mum smiles at me and says "Miranda were friends in highschool, honestly I had no idea mason was her son but you should of seen our reaction when we saw each other you should ask you brother he is hiding in his room rocking back and forth in a corner" Miranda laughs with my mum at this inside joke that I have no idea what to think of when I feel mason chuckle through our connected hands, I look at him and and he smiles and shrugs his shoulders. I smile back and my mum interrupts us by clearing her throat, both our head snap in her direction but then she laughs and turns to Miranda "why don't you stay for a while and have a drink" Miranda thinks about this for a moment and says "I would love to but I just have to tell the hubby" mum laughs and says "since when did u ask permission" Miranda laughs and says "I don't I'm just telling him I'm coming home later and diner is in the fridge for him and jake" I wonder who jake is but then I remember that mason has an older brother and I'm guessing that is his name. when masons mum leaves the room on the phone to masons dad mum turns to me and says "your welcome now scram" I smile and pull mason from the room and decide I want to pay Nate a visit.
