Mason frowns at me then he turns back to Jay and says something in a hushed voices never taking his eyes off me, Jay nods the hits masons shoulder then walks over the Alice and hugs her from behind and Alice laughs loudly but I pay no attention to them, my focus is on mason, he starts walking over to me and whispers in my ear "can you come over later?" I shake my head and say "no but I'm walking home today you can walk with me" mason thinks about this for a moment this nods and says "sure better than nothing" at that he turns and walks over to the group which is laughing loudly and joins in, so I walk over to Alice and smile and start talking "hey how are you" she smiles and says "oh yea I'm alright how are you" I smile back and say "yeah yeah I'm alright" Alice smiles then as if she remembers something she pulls out her phone and says "what's your number" surprised i tell Alice my number and she types it into her phone then I get a message and I pull out my phone and laugh because it's from Alice, we laugh together until the bell goes and we head back to class.
By the end of the day I have the whole groups numbers and I'm talking to them all comfortably which is comforting to know but mason seems to be avoiding me, what a boyfriend I think but then I feel like slapping myself because we aren't suppose to act like we are going out. At that moment I remember mason is walking me home and I almost jump up and down with glee but the I remember Nate is supposed to walk with me... fuck. the bell goes for the end of the day and everyone is almost running to get out of the class room but I take my time packing up my pencil case and books, when I stand up mason is standing in front of my table smiling "hey there beautiful" he says with a grin I start laughing and hug him tightly, he hugs me back then grabs my chin and guide my face to his, our lips are inches apart but then the teacher clears his voice and says "come on love birds" mason lets me go then rubs the back of his neck and looks at the teacher and smiles then grabs my hand and drags me out of the class's room.
