A short drabble under 800 words. Also, can we take a moment to appreciate how amazing the icon Roe made for me looks? I love it so much, it's so pretty

Despite what the lyrics of the songs that Claire was singing from the kitchen said, it was not, in fact, a good morning.

"I miss the days when you couldn't talk," Kara mumbled, burying herself even deeper into the couch and her massive pile of blankets. "Back then, you did everything that I told you to do. My word was law. You would have never dared to wake me up at such an unholy hour in fear of facing my wrath."

Practically skipping from the kitchen, Claire placed a tray on the table in front of her older sister. "Well, times have changed, sister dearest!" Giggling, she placed a quick kiss on Kara's check, who stared up in disgust and horror at her.

"I have half a mind to puke on you right now for being this happy this early."

"That is the weirdest threat I've ever received, but I shall take that as a compliment!"

Once her younger sister had glided back into her happy little safe place full of sunshine and rainbows, Kara dubiously inspected her breakfast. There was a waffle sitting in the center, and it had a face. Was she delusional from lack of proper sleep? Nope, she was not. Claire had made a waffle face with whipped cream and chocolate chips. A small bowl of fruit sat next to a tall glass of milk, and yep, there was a tiny vase with a lone sunflower sticking out of it, its bright, perky face mocking Kara- nevermind, she was indeed a bit delusional.

Kara heard a soft knock as she stared down that evil little sunflower. Letting out an eager squeal, Claire rushed to the door, smoothing down the skirt of her sundress before opening it.

Liam, Claire's disgustingly cheery boyfriend, stepped through the door with a giant bouquet in his arms. Kara looked on in disgust as the happy couple embraced each other, gagging when Liam placed a quick peak on her sister's lips.

"Let me go find a place to put these, and then I'll be ready to go!" Claire said before disappearing off into the abyss that was her apartment, leaving Liam alone with his girlfriend's grumpy big sister.

Liam smiled brightly. Ugh. "So how are you, Kara?"

"It is five in the morning," Kara grunted. "How do you think I am?"

Chuckling, the young man asked, "You're not much of a morning person, are you?"

Looking dead into Liam's eyes, Kara deadpanned, "If you mean that I'm not one of those despicable people who sold their very souls to the devil himself to be able to be so inhumanly happy in the morning, then yes. I am not a morning person."

"The only morning person around here is me," Claire interjected as she practically floated back into the room. "Well, and you, now that you're here, sweetheart."

"If you two kiss again, I will puke on you, I swear," Kara rolled her eyes as the couple inched closer to each other.

As Liam awkwardly avoided making eye contact while his face turned an extreme shade of red, Claire faced her sister. "Are you sure you don't want to tag along with us? As long as you're up, you might as well come along and have some fun!"

"I would much rather face off with a zombie lion with the intelligence level of a strategic general in a wrestling match with all the bets on him than play third wheel for you two this early in the morning, but thanks for asking."

Claire giggled as Liam's face dawned a confused expression. "Well, it's your loss. Don't have too much fun while I'm gone, and remember to help Mrs. Gloria across the hall if she comes up with her groceries. She always has trouble with them."

"Yeah, I will, sure," Kara wrinkled her nose. "Now get out of here with your Disney prince of a boyfriend because I tell him off for wearing such a perfect outfit that makes me feel bad about myself when I see it."

"Oh, you silly goose!" Claire escorted a very confused Liam to the door, beaming at her sister as she did so. "Bye! Don't have too much fun without me!"

"Believe me, I will," Kara mumbled as she watched the door shut and the apartment fall into perfect silence. Glancing at her smiling waffle, she growled. Yep, she would definitely have to eat that thing so it couldn't curse her with its cheerful grin any longer. And she wouldn't enjoy eating it.

Nope. Not one bit.
