You chocked on dust as your legs gave out on you. You dropped to the ground covered in sweat and blood. Your body shook as your eyes burned as spots danced in your sight.

You had done it, the worlds were safe, you had won Ragnarok.

You sighed shakily, looking around. They were all here, Samirah, Mallory, Halfborn, T.J, Alex and Magnus . . . Wait.

You turned to face different directions, looking side to side frantically. Where was Alex and Magnus?

Panic flooded your body. You didn't see your two companions. Did something happen?

You stood up, wobbling. You saw gods all beaten and bruised, but not dead. None really mattered to you, except Freyr. He had been fighting along side his son against Surt.

Freyr looked distraught staring down at the ground. My eyes followed his glaze and there you saw it. Alex and Magnus.

Alex seemed to be shaking Magnus and yelling, distraught evident on her face as well.

Upon closer inspection you saw tears rush down her face as she shook just like you, only more vigorously. You had never seen your sister in this state before and it deeply upset you. What was wrong? She should've been happy. They all defeated Ragnarok, they were all safe.

You stepped closer, eyeing Samirah who had been doing the same as you. Only she was making far more process in the short few seconds to approach the scene than you did.

Samirah had paused, lingering behind her sister, staring down at the same thing as Alex.

Finally, coming behind them as well, you saw it.

A small gasp escaped your lips and your hands clamped over your mouth and nose. The smell of burning flesh invading your system.

Magnus, Alex's boyfriend at the time, laying there dead. How was this even? They were already dead. It must've been that they were out of the boundaries of Valhalla.

You took a closer look and it definitely wasn't pretty. Blood stains painted Magnus' body and clothing, soaking him even. Deep lashes littered all over with burns around them making his skin rot and disappear.

You then turned to Alex again. She was yelling profanities as her boyfriend, as well as calling him an "idiot!" And telling him to "just wake the hell up!" But it seemed hopeless.

Magnus' blood stained Alex's pink and green shirt (her favorite shirt at that) as she held him, but she didn't seem to care in the least.

Everyone fell quiet, even the gods that moments ago were cheering about their victory.

Valhalla lost many in this battle. And it seemed to take a toll on some gods such as Odin.

Everyone alive had shared that quiet moment, reminiscing about those who had lost as blue and white dust from the monsters rose into the air and dispersed before disappearing all together.

It was Thor who had finally spoke, speaking about what you only assumed was about Victory and all their accomplishments. But you didn't hear, you weren't listening. All you should focus on was Alex's quiet sobs and shaky breaths.

It had taken an hour to convince Alex they needed to go. All that was left was that who resided on floor nineteen. Samirah and you had talked to Alex slowly, explaining that they all needed to go even if they all didn't want to just leave Magnus.

Alex had agreed, with one condition: she would be allowed to say goodbye in privacy.

The rest of floor nineteen had agreed and distanced themselves from Alex. You didn't see much, just Alex shaking, saying something you couldn't hear. She held Magnus close.

It was ten minutes later that she had gotten up, her hand lingering onto Magnus' knowing that once she let go, she'd never hold his hand again. Never see him again. This was it, it was over.

Her hand slowly let go of his. Once more, she lingered in place, watching him before finally turning to face you and the rest of floor nineteen.

She walked up to you, not turning her head to face Magnus.

"Let's go" she said, her voice strained and hoarse from yelling and crying.

You gave Magnus one last look before turning away.

My writing may not be the best, but in all honesty, I cried writing this.

Plus, I was going to have a whole other ending where Alex talks to the reader about what happened but I think it felt right and made it a little more powerful just ending it there.
